For this mock I used the team forums mainly...It is different than most mocks you will see. Anyways, I feel that the selection for the Pats should be Bryant McFadden. He really impressed me today with his play. Before the Senior Bowl I had doubts about his tackling ability. David Baas is also a canidate. Kevin Burnett would be great as well. Lets discuss it and tomorrow night I will edit the mock and put in our selection. Rabbi then has three days to do the second round and then we will discuss that. Hollywood has the 3rd round and if we have no other volunteers I will do the 4th round.
1. San Francisco - Alex Smith
2. Miami - Cedric Benson
3. Cleveland - Antrel Rolle
4. Chicago - Braylon Edwards
5. Tampa Bay - Cadillac Williams
6. Tennessee - Derrick Johnson
7. Oakland - Aaron Rodgers
8. Arizona - Ronnie Brown
9. Washington - Justin Tuck
10. Detroit - Thomas Davis
11. Dallas - Shawne Merriman
12. San Diego (from Giants) - Mike Williams
13. Houston - Alex Barron
14. Carolina - Carlos Rogers
15. Kansas City - Pac-Man Jones
16. New Orleans - Channing Crowder
17. Cincinnati - Travis Johnson
18. Minnesota - Brandon Browner
19. St. Louis - Jamaal Brown
20. Dallas (from Buffalo) - Marcus Spears
21. Jacksonville - Dan Cody
22. Baltimore - Mark Clayton
23. Seattle - Erasmus James
24. Green Bay - David Pollack
25. Denver - Shaun Cody
26. N.Y. Jets - Heath Miller
27. Atlanta - Elton Brown
28. San Diego - Brodney Pool
29. Indianapolis - Justin Miller
30. Pittsburgh - Ciatrick Fason
31. Philadelphia - Troy Williamson
32. New England - Marlin Jackson _________________

here is some info on Burnett
6'3" 235 lbs 4.55 40 time
KB is an amazing athlete. He started his career as a safety and made the switch to OLB. He has the frame to put on some weight and if he bulks up 10 pounds he will be the size of Tedy Bruschi. He has great instincts and can make plays sideline to sideline. He is great in coverage and can rush the QB like Willie McGinest. He is an explosive tackler. KB is a great leader and one of the captains for the Volunteers. I can see the Pats drafting him and switching him to ILB. He will have to bulk up a little, but he has the frame to do it.
If nobody else likes Burnett than I suggest we trade down...we could possibly get Kansas City's 2nd round pick(47) and their 3rd round pick(79)in return for pick 32 and 128. The value of our picks is 634 and the value of KC's picks is 635.
Trading down is possibly the best solution. KC wants impact defensive help and KB will help them achieve that along with PacMan. NEw England on the other hand just needs good quality depth. _________________

I think we need depth at Cb and I really like Bryant McFadden and he looked good all week. _________________

How can you not pick Marlin Jackson here? He is better than McFadden in my opinion and more of a dominator.
I posted the 2nd round in a differnt link. I will edit it after the pick is made. _________________

Last year Brandon Bolden...this year Zach Sudfeld! |

Marlin Jackson had legal troubles and maybe that will turn off Bill B. and like I said McFadden just looks better. _________________

I think McFadden is kind of slow. With the new contact rule we need fast corners to keep up with the fast receivers without playing handsies. Marlin runs a 4.40 - 4.45
McFadden runs a 4.50 - 4.55
nothing against McFadden but MJ is better. His off the field problems were two years ago...I'm pretty positive that BB woudn't mind MJ if he fell that far. _________________

Yeah I know Asante's time...read Scott Wright's bio on McFadden. He pretty much says that he is not athletic and doesn't play to his potential. Personally I would be happy with any of the top 6 corners (top 6 after the combines). _________________
