Detroit: where good players come to lower their lifetime batting average or higher their lifetime ERA.
Honestly I blame our coaching staff the most because we have so many players that are doing so much worse than their lifetime averages. We really need to clean out our coaching staff. Although I must admit our bullpen could be suspect even with Chuck Hernandez gone. _________________

Too much money tied up in underperformers, and an injury plague that would destroy any team in the game.
Get rid of Sheff, Rodney, and jones. Pick up a catcher and a dominant RP. Develop young position players and drafted relievers. Think about a SS for the future. Leave DD alone, give Leyland another year or two to figure things out. |

Verlander has done that often against the sox, a few bad innings, then dominates the rest, but still loses. _________________

I call that the Bonderman. Any runs you give up come in the first inning. |

Do you call the runs given up between the 2-6 the Rogers-Robertson connection? _________________ Its only a matter of time until Hockey Town USA is rocking again!

It looks like the Tigers will atleast take 1, even though its time to start planning for next season. _________________

Agreed, we should start bringing up guys from the minors so they can try out for the future and get some MLB expereince, all the while making us lose more, thus giving us a higher draft pick!
What a bust of a season, I never thought I would be hoping the Tigers lose for draft postition in the final quarter of the season. _________________

Does anyone else think Kenny Rogers needs to retire, he has not been good at all this year and I think he needs to call it quits or find a new home because he is just not working out in Detroit.

Wilkin Ramirez Double-A stats:
.304/.369/.505, 18 HR, 64 RBI, 113 K to 35 BB, 22 SB in 362 at bats.
Wow. He turns 23 in October. Looks like Los Tigres have a young stud.
As for his chances of starting, it'd have to be in left field. Maggs is likely out of Detroit after next year, Granderson is locked up through 2013. Thames is on a one year deal, and I see him coming back.
If Ramirez can show he can rake in Triple-A and the Tigers aren't in the race next summer, I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Ordonez to make room for Ramirez. _________________
