Mostly because I want to update it more and I didn't start the other thread, and ony about the last 15 pages even cover the last year or so.
Rain out tonight, but it appears there will be a 1:10, 8:10 double header _________________

Can anyone tell me why Bill Bray was sent down to Louisville for a couple days?

Drew Stubbs our first round pick 2 years ago is batting .283 with High A Sarasota. He has 1 HR, 9RBI's, and 39 K's. He is also 14/16 on stolen bas attempts though . Can anyone tell me what it is with Reds OF's and high strikeout totals? _________________

| I'm hoping that the Mets can capitalize against the Reds. I think there is a good chance of a sweep because you guys aren't sending Harang or Volquez to the mound but I could definitely see Cueto giving us problems on Sunday. The Mets have an awful track record against first year pitchers, so that could be a trap game. Anyways, i'm looking foward to watching Jeff Keppinger for the first time since he backed up Kaz Matsui with the Mets. |

Bray was easily our best relief pitcher. Our front office is stupid. He is in the category with Cueto, Volquez, Cordero, and Harang of pitchers who actually provide positive results to this team _________________

i know it makes no sense.
Hopefully the double header today willl help us out but it doesn't look too good. Johan pitching the first game (patterson has already been picked off) and then Bronson is pitching the second game. Hopefully he can get on track. have you guys watched the Chris Welsh/ Bronson commercials for JTM? They are so stupid.

Bronson pitched beautifully tonight. 8 innings of one run baseball. I hope this is a sign of things to come. _________________

So to go back to the old thread and the discussion of Volquez throwing 118 with a 9 run lead, apparently only a just off the DL Weathers and Cordero were available and Dusty was trying to give Cordero the night off for some reason. I don't know.
I'd like to see Arroyo string some goodness together so he has some value at the deadline. _________________

Hopefully Bronson will keep pitching like he did last night. As far as Volquez, Baker just has to watch it. We have a very good young pitcher that has been lights out all year(man when was the last time we could say that?) and i don't want Baker to overuse him or Cueto or Bailey and Thompson when they get up here. speaking of Thompson there was a great article in the Enquirer today about him.

Who are the starters in AAA? Anyone have a link or anything? We can't stick with Belisle for long. He belongs in the bullpen anyway. _________________

Satrters in Triple A Loisville are: Homer Bailey, Matt Maloney, Justin Lehr, Tom Shearn, and Adam Petty John.

Has anyone watched Homer pitch this year? How is his curveball and changeup coming along? _________________

I saw him the first game of the year in Syracuse. His fastball was electric, and the offspeed stuff was ok. He gave up all his hits but one of offspeed. Control seemed to be better, but it still isn't MLB ready. I've been calling to bring him up now, but I think we should bring him up after the trade deadline now. _________________

Bailey got shelled on Saturday, and the fact is, he still needs more time to refine his offspeed stuff and to throw a higher percentage of strikes and improve his command in general. If we could trade the Dodgers Bailey, Arroyo, and Dunn for Clayton Kershaw, i'd drive them there personally going 95 mph the entire way.
Jay Bruce is still struggling with K rates (34 Ks in 35 games) but he is hitting .328 with 6 HR, 27 rbi, 22 runs, 5 2B, 4 3B, and 7 SB in 7 attempts.
Paul Janish has been playing very well as of late and is hitting in the .280-.290 range. With his plus defense I think he'll be a good bench player for a few years. Defensive sub with the occassional spot start. _________________
