Just watching the NZ Warriors game, and I think it's high time for a Rugby League thread.

Anyone's thoughts on who's going to win the NRL this year?

.....Tigers.....(Homerism in me)

I think the Storm must be the favourites once more this year.

The Tigers have had a good start to the year two from two over the Cowboys and Dragons and the combo of a mobile forward pack and explosive backs has worked so far.

Wow I'm a Tigers fan too... Small world huh?

Is Benji Marshall ever going to get through successive games without getting injured? He's out for like half the season now isn't he?

6-8 weeks is the diagnosis, at least it wasn't his shoulder.

I don't think we need Benji to compete, We have good finshers on the wings and are still solid up the middle a 1-6-7-9 with Brett, Johnny and Robbie.

As I said earlier our combo of explosive backs and mobile forwards is going to be devastating, in good weather, we will struggle to win games in cold/wet weather.

Yeah to me it is the same kind of thing as the Knights a couple of years ago, where they eventually got used to not having Andrew Johns. I'm not too worried about not having Benji, it doesn't seem that different and as you said, we still have our share of playmakers

storm have to be favorites . I'm also a tigers fan. Warriors first tigers second and I like to watch teams that have a large kiwi presence . So I'm watching more and more because there are so many of us now.

If you want a Kiwi presence other than the Warriors, Wests and Souths are the teams to watch. Put those two together and you could probably make a New Zealand team all in its own.

I agree about the Storm, they have to be up their. They just have so many playmakers, Billy Slater etc just destroyed the Warriors a couple of weeks ago

Who is next in line behind the storm if they don't win it?. I would of thought maybe Parramatta. But not so sure after the warriors smashed them.
It kind of looks like it's the storm way in front and then maybe 4 or 5 teams second.

Yeah It's quite open I think, that's one of the reasons that the NRL is so good; any team could really beat any other team on any given day

Maybe the storm are not as good as we thought?
They have lost two in a row first time since round 3-4 in 2006 that they did that.
Rosters who beat them lastnight are looking good.

Yeah hope tonight's one is a good one. I think it's great this year that there is no clear cut number 1 team, it seems so even. The Storm's play has been a real surprise as well, what with all the playmakers they have.

I don't get to watch much NRL, but im a big Super League fan, with Wigan Warriors being my team. It seems we're going for the Jekyll and Hyde season again, i.e beating Bradford one week, then getting beat by a injury depleted Hull side. There really is no telling what Wigan are going to do when they step on the pitch - adds to the excitement I guess!
