Trying to figure out who might be available for Dallas in the draft by the process of elimination.

So what are the top 5 needs, in order, for Jacksonville this off-season?

Linder will be a all pro as long as he stays on the path he is on and health remains good. I'm still not sold on Beadles I was thinking that maybe they should move Linder to Jokles side to get some aggression over there and help Luke. Its not that great of a need I still think we should draft a swing OL in the 4-6 round who can play multiple positions OG and Tackle to promote competition. I wouldn't have been mad if they offered Ron Parker a contract he seems like a pretty solid DB that may be able to push for time at FS.

It's an oversized 4-3 Sam LB. It's like the old Bear LB if you're at all familiar with the 80's Bears defenses, or sorta like Von Miller. It's sorta in-between a normal 4-3 LB and our LEO.

basically it's someone that can go into coverage 1st/2nd down and pass rush on 3rd

It's basically an amazing super-player who is great at everything - and big.

I think our needs as of now go for the draft...

LEO
FS (Young one to compete with Sergio Brown)
MLB (Poz is older)
RB (Someone to pair with Shoelace)
WR (If Blackmon doesn't come back and Caldwell said he wants a slot WR)
Tackle (Insurance incase Joeckel doesn't improve or depth)

Then if they wanted to go that route
Future Otto- incase Skula doesn't fit
Future TE2- Lewis contract up next year, more TE's the merrier
Guard/Center Depth - Can never have too much O-Line

What do you guys feel?

I like Denard but I think he would be able to last a full season if he got 12-15 carries/touches as opposed to 20 or so, a big back to go with him can only help IMO

It's not really a massive need, but honestly neither are any of these other needs. Aside from a few clear spots where there isn't anyone on the roster with a chance at being the guy, we're in holding pattern with a lot of these needs until we figure out whether or not a guy is the answer.

We need much better LT play, but Joeckel is supposed to be that guy.
We need a deep threat WR, but Lee has that skillset and it appears that the team has him in their plans there for now at least
We need the big bodied in traffic WR, but Robinson showed he might be that guy.
We need much better play at LG, but Beadles showed some promise.
We need better play at C, but Bowanko did quite well for a rookie.
We need a lot better play at RT, but Parnell is there now.
We need an OTTO, but Skuta has that skillset.
We need a #2 CB but House was brought in to be that guy and Colvin played like he could maybe become that guy.
We need a FS, but Brown is a guy they seem to want to give a chance to.

With the RB position, it's a bit different. Denard wasn't bad last year, but he's not a 20 carry a game back either. It may not be a pressing need, but it's one where we clearly need to upgrade at a certain point. And while these other positions are in limbo, it kinda pushes RB closer to the front of needs. It's just a matter of whether or not Dave thinks that the other question marks are dealt with enough to put in the RB or if we're just going to run with Denard, Toby and hopefully Storm until the roster is ready to make a serious run.
