Packers receiver Randall Cobb left with a shoulder injury after getting tackled along the sideline during the first quarter of the team's game against Philadelphia. Packers versatile starting defensive back Micah Hyde was carted off the field. Green Bay's starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga also left with an ankle injury.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet

Still awaiting word on the severity of #Packers WR Randall Cobb’s shoulder injury. Among the worries, broken collarbone is not one of them.

My guess would be an AC joint sprain then. Probably ready to go week one as long as it's not severe.

Cobb left Saturday’s game against the Eagles after three plays with an injury that he thought would knock him out for an extended period of time. Cobb said after the game that he thought he broke his collarbone, but tests revealed that the injury wasn’t that serious.

While that was a “silver lining,” Cobb’s not sure about whether he will be well enough to play in Week One against the Bears. There will be more tests on his shoulder on Sunday.

@RapSheet: After his MRI, Packers WR Randall Cobb has an AC joint sprain, source said. It’s minor. No word on Week 1, but could have been much worse.

Wide receiver Randall Cobb should be good to go for Green Bay’s regular-season opener against Chicago. An NFL source told FOX Sports on Tuesday that all “indicators” point to Cobb being able to play after he suffered an A/C sprain during Saturday night’s preseason game against Philadelphia.

“He’s going to be fine,” the source said. “He feels good about it.”

According to Bob Holtzman of ESPN, Randall Cobb will play today against the Bears, but will wear extra protection for his injured shoulder. He admitted it was still painful, making it hard for him to sleep.

The Packers have placed tight end Andrew Quarless on injured-reserve/designated for return after he suffered a knee injury in last Monday night’s win over the Chiefs.

The team has called the injury an MCL sprain. With the IR/return designation, Quarless can return to practice after six weeks and to game action after eight weeks.

are you saying Packer fan(s) are being attacked here, or is this a hypothetical?

many Packer fans have posted in the MINN forum over the years in a respectable manner, talking football and not looking to stir up trouble. those are always welcome.
