Another homecoming: Bears agree to terms with DL Israel Idonije, per league source.

if they keep getting lineman they won't get Melton back, upping our chances of landing him.

Perhaps they know Melton won't be back. Chicago is in a great spot at 14 to draft a dt.

I'd be sick to my stomach if the Bears drafted Aaron Donald.

Good for Marshall. That offense would really miss his production.

My #2 WR in the NFL, behind Megatron only.

Well deserved, he's a beast. Crazy to think, but I think he's still underrated. Great hands, shifty, precise route runner, best at the point of attack, good with jump balls, not afraid in the box/slot, easily the best blocker. Does it all.

The Bears are likely going to be without one of their starting guards until training camp. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that left guard Matt Slauson had surgery on his right shoulder to repair a partial labrum tear. Slauson is likely to miss the rest of OTAs and minicamp, but Biggs reports that the Bears are confident he’ll be ready “well in advance” of training camp.

Domenik Hixon tears ACL

Quote:
I tore my ACL today for the 3rd time today! I'm disappointed that I won't be playing for a bears team that has the players and coaches to WIN the Super Bowl. I thank God for letting me live my dream of playing in the NFL for 8 years plus. It has truly been FUN! ‪#‎blessed‬ ‪#‎lovethisgame‬

In other words...he's done. I guess I hadn't known that he was around that long.

Brock Vereen has virtually established himself as the player to beat out for the No. 1 free safety position, situated alongside veteran free agent Ryan Mundy. Vereen is in the starting slot that had appeared finally secure in the person of Chris Conte the past two-plus years. Now Conte has perhaps his toughest competition since coming into the NFL via the third round of the 2011 draft, coming back from offseason surgery and needing to overtake an ascending Vereen.

Defensive Coordinator Mel Tucker: “Brock has done a nice job, he has great attention to detail. He’s very sound from a technique standpoint. He’s smart; he plays fast. He does not make a lot of mistakes. That’s good to see. So I think it’s arrow-up with him. He’s doing an outstanding job so far. We’ll see how it goes. We have competition there. There’s nothing set in stone. So we’ll just continue to monitor him and the rest of the guys and we’ll end up with a good group I think.”

The Bears announced the signing of WR Dale Moss, who spent part of the 2013 offseason with Chicago. He was also on the Bears’ practice squad for a portion of the 2012 regular season.

The 25-year-old Moss entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2012. The South Dakota State product has played with Green Bay (2012), Tampa Bay (2012) and Carolina (2013). Moss was last in the NFL with the Panthers, who waived him in August 2013.
