That's what I would think. It'll also essentially mean he'll end his career in Chicago.

Of course, it does probably signify the end of Josh McCown in Chicago as well.

Do we have numbers for the deal besides the fact it's 7 years?

$18 mil a year, it's apparently a bit larger than that Stafford got.

I think that paying Cutler all that money is a big mistake by the Bears organization.

The guy is eight years into his NFL career and he hasn't had a single season where he was better than average. His 89.2 passer rating this year was the best of his career.

could the Bears move on from Cutler?

No way. He's erratic, but could be one of a handfull of QB to lead a team to a Superbowl on a good run. Like Romo, Favre, etc.

Called it.

Saw somewhere that the deal was basically agreed to before the season, but they wanted to see how he and Trestman would mesh.

inconsistent play and injuries. He is not a reliable qb and he is very mediocre.

Love the signing, It means the Bears will be mediocre for the next 7 years. Cutler is an average QB, Who's been a bit injury prone as of late. Now the Bears have to suffer the cap numbers that Cutler will bring for the next few years atleast.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I do think the will have one "run" and get dangerously close to the SB but that's it.

Bears still had 23 or 24 expiring contract as well. I would think this contract would spell the end, or at least a restructure, for Julius Peppers.

Unwarranted arrogance. He's a better version of Jeff George...although, as a player, he's apparently more similar to Bob Griese...and some QB named Milt Plum.
