This from PFT Rumor Mill:
PATS TO PASS ON STALLWORTH OPTION
A league source tells us that the New England Patriots already have advised receiver Donte' Stallworth that they won't be picking up the $6 million option due to be paid to him on or before February 25.
As a result, the Pats will be required to cut Stallworth by 4:00 p.m. EST on Friday, February 22. Unless, of course, they work out a new deal with him before then.
Stallworth was signed by the Pats before the team acquired Randy Moss. The decision not to keep Stallworth suggests that the team will retain Moss, possibly by applying the franchise tag to him and then trying to work out a long-term deal.
The deadline for applying the franchise tag is February 21.
Yet another WR prospect to look at. I don't know if the Vikes will be interested, but I think they should at least take a sniff. He knows the offense from his short stint in Philly and brings a veteran presence. |

of course we should take a look at stallworth, he will be the perfect number 1 receiver...we need a deep threat _________________

While Stallworth can go deep he isn't a typical deep threat. He is more of an intermediate route runner then gets good yards after the catch. That being said, he is perfect for our offense and we should give him a real look should the Pats cut him. _________________

This guy is exactly what Tarvaris Jackson needs. If we can snatch him, along with Alge Crumpler, then our offense is set. T-Jack could have a great year.
Things I seen, or know about the guy:
He has very good speed, and is moderately young (maybe 27). He can catch, but sometimes he tends to tip the ball in the air, which becomes INTS (for instance, when NE played SD, Brady threw to Stallworth, and he tipped it, and Cromartie/Jammer intercepted it.) He is a great player, if you need a screen completed, considering he can use his speed, along with his height, so he CAN'T BE JAMMED AT THE LINE. He can bring versatility to an offense.
This guy, along with Alge Crumpler definitally need to be looked at by our organization, and hopefully Wilf and Childress decide on both of them. _________________

Agreed. As long as our defense can manage, then we could be that dark-horse Superbowl team. _________________

can anyone speak to his character?
disagreeable or collaborative?
loner or team player?
leadership?
community activities?
married or single?
party animal or quiet?
sorry guys, this isn't FFMD or a Madden game. before we're in the Super Bowl by just picking up players, they're going to have to fit in and buy off on the purple team philosophy. _________________

He's in the NFL substance abuse program. 1 more violation and he will be suspended 4 games. That raises some red flags (or black dots) in my book.
As to him personally, he's a wacky guy who is a leader and the team jokester. He likes to say that he has an alter-ego that lives on Mars. _________________

(To be honest, I wasn't sure if i should've added this on to my other post, or make a new one, so I just went with logic not to confuse my idea on Stallworth, with the others)
