Quick Hits and Fun Facts-
-The New York Mets have appeared in 4 World Series (1969 1973 1986 2000) and have won 2 (1969 1986)
-Gil Hodges (14), Casey Stengel (37), and Tom Seaver (41) are the only Mets to have their numbers retired along with Jackie Robinson's 42 which is retired league wide.
-The Mets were established in 1962 as the New York Metropolitans.
-Their blue and orange colors were selected to honor the city's displaced franchises the Dodgers and Giants, who had moved to Los Angeles and San Francisco respectively.
-They play in Flushing Queens at Shea Stadium which opened in 1964; Next year the Mets will move into a new stadium, Citi Field.
-The Mets have appeared in more World Series four than any other expansion team in Major League Baseball history. They have won two championships, tied with the Toronto Blue Jays and Florida Marlins for the most titles among expansion teams.
-No Met pitcher has ever thrown a no-hitter, and the Mets have gone longer than any other major league franchise without pitching a no-hitter

he should be he won't. Wright is batting 5th as of this moment, he's batted 5th for the last two years. I don't expect that to change unless Delgado continues to struggle. The lineups and rotations are accurate, I can assure you. |

Actually Wright started batting 4th in late May and starting on July 25th last year Wright started batting 3rd.
And he will continue to bat third for the next decade.

Castillo
Wright
Beltran
Delgado
Alou

This is probably the actual batting order. (Although Alou was hitting ahead of Delgado late in the year, I think Delgado will go back to the 5 hole.) _________________ "It's the sport of Kings...

he briefly batted 4th, but went back to the 5 hole on May 29th where he remained for the majority of the year

until he was moved to the 3rd hole as a response to Carlos Beltran's injury on July 25th and stayed there for the next month while Beltran rehabed. Wright will bat 5th most likely although it is possible that he will be moved to 3rd or 4th, where he would be the most productive. I based my projected lineups on the 2006 and 2007 opening day lineups, I will acknowledge that Wright will move up to the 3rd spot within the next year or two but I think that Wright will start the year off in the 5th spot unless Delgado struggles. |

You are wrong go check again Wright batted 3rd everyday for the rest of the year except Aug. 10th. I don't understand why you are fighting this. There is no way they will be moving him back.
Here's 4 Boxes from September, he batted third in every single game.

And FYI after that end of May weekend series, Wright bounced around the batting order. He batted 3rd against the Yanks, then 4th against the Twins, then 5th against the Tigers in that mid-June stretch. So we were both wrong, sort of. Although he did bat 4th about 90 percent of the time between the end of May and the end of July. _________________ "It's the sport of Kings...

how am I fighting with you, I disagreed with what you said. Wright did move to the 3rd spot for the rest of the year by the end of July but that was largely a reaction to Beltran's injury. Wright played well enough to stay in the 3rd spot while Beltran batted clean up. |

You're not fighting me, your fighting the fact that Wright is, was, and will be our 3 hitter.
You said this:

But, after May 25th he barely batted 5th, in fact he batted 4th more than he batted 5th from May 25 till July 25th. Then outside of 1 game he batted 3rd from there on out.
He will NOT be moving back down the order! There is no way the Mets do that to the face of the franchise. Not after the year he had. It is the spot he has been destined for since his first call-up and it is the spot he has earned. And he is the best 3 hitter the Mets have. Beltran strikes out way too much to reside in that spot. _________________ "It's the sport of Kings...
