Basically I wanted a spot to compile multiple peoples trade free mock drafts on how they want to it to go and see if we have any sort of consensus as to how we hope it goes. Try and keep it reasonable to where players might fall. And I'll leave this un-compiled for a while and will probably just create a shared google doc and link it in here to so we can see what we are all thinking.

The picks:

1-8
2-8
3-8
3-32
4-8
5-8
6-8
7-8

My take:

1-8 Teddy Bridgewater - He seems like he might have been passed by a couple more upside friendly QB's but I love him for the Vikings and think that he is a season 1 contributor who can be a very good starting QB and while he might not be as flashy as some other QB's, but I like his consistency and I think that will lead the team to multiple playoffs and hopefully the promised land more than flash will.

2-8 Kyle Van Noy - He's a big linebacker who I like a a strong side linebacker. This should allow Greenway to play to his strengths at weakside linebacker. I also like his size and all around play making ability at linebacker.

3-8 Terrance Brooks - The Vikings strongly addressed CB, so the need in the defensive backfield is at safety, Brooks would give them a safety with coverage abilities that would pair up nicely, I think with Harrison Smith.

3-32 Chris Smith - The Vikings need to get back more DE depth, he has enough size but with shorter arms. The production was solid in college and as a good depth rotational player, I think that it works quite well.

4-8 Jordan Tripp - He is a small school prospect, but I really like his upside a lot. The size is good, and I was impressed by his agility in the drills at the combine, but I haven't been able to see any games.

5-8 Anthony Steen - A solid size OG prospect, and while he isn't as potentially dominant as some other Alabama prospects, they have solid pedigree, and I think that he'd be a good depth player who could push the starting line-up potentially at LG.

6-8 Isaiah Crowell - RB depth behind Adrian Peterson

7-8 Jay Bromley - The Syracuse DT probably isn't a long term NFL option, but he has the size to play NT, we'll see if he can be depth behind Joseph.

1-8 Johnny Manziel (QB)
I would love Bridgewater or even Bortles here but I just have a feeling that we're going to end up with Johnny Football here

2-8 Ra'Shede Hageman (DT)
A perfect fit for Zimmer's Defense atleast IMO although we may need another NT I believe we could pick one up as an UDFA but Hageman's strength coupled with his athleticism will allow him to play anywhere on the line.

3-8 CJ Fiedorowicz (TE)
A possible Rudolph replacement. I still have faith in Rudolph but just in case he doesn't take the next step I believe Fiedorowicz can & would be his replacement. I strongly believe that if CJ played in a system that would have featured him that he'd be a 1st round lock.

3-32 Jackson Jeffcoat (DE)
A big fan of Jeffcoat. IMO a perfect fit for Zimmer's D. He not only plays the run well but is a good pash rusher as well. Gives the Vikings depth at DE & should be Robison's replacement.

4-8 Christian Jones (LB)
Has been one of my favorite prospects throughout the process. I believe he is the perfect fit for us and I love his versatility.

5-8 Mike Davis (WR)
IMO the perfect fit for what our WR corps need, he would replace Simpson but not rushed into the lineup. He is a good deep threat with great body control. Definitely needs to focus & improve his route tree but I believe that could come with time.

6-8 Anthony Steen (OG)
A player I've wanted on the Vikes throughout the process. Should be a good depth signing with the possibility of becoming our starting LG

7-8 Bene Benwikere (CB)
Another one of my favorite prospects throughout the process. I believe that if Benwikere didn't get hurt he'd go higher. I love him as a NCB and I know we just signed The Captain however I think it'd be a good move for the future as he could learn behind The Captain for a few years & than possibly take over.

no trades...? ok then...

Round 1 Pick 8: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State (doesn't mean he's my top QB choice, just the one most likely to be there at 8, and still might not be)
Round 2 Pick 8: Kelcy Quarles, DT, South Carolina
Round 3 Pick 8: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
Round 3 Pick 32: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada
Round 4 Pick 8: Craig Loston, SS, LSU
Round 5 Pick 8: Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh
Round 6 Pick 8: Tyler Starr, OLB, South Dakota
Round 7 Pick 8: Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech (convert to TE)

Good idea; I've been starting and stopping a few mocks w/ trades but this makes it easier.

Houston - Jadeveon Clowney
St. Louis - Greg Robinson
Jacksonville - Khalil Mack
Cleveland - Mike Evans (based on rumors of them liking him more than Watkins)
Oakland - Sammy Watkins (Good pair with James Jones for Matt Schaub)
Atlanta - Jake Matthews
Tampa Bay - CJ Mosley

1.8 - Teddy Bridgewater - QB - Louisville
2.8 - Deone Bucannon - S - Washington State
3.8 - Donte Moncrief - WR - Ole Miss
3.32 - Phillip Gaines - CB - Rice
4.8 - Jordan Tripp - LB - Montana
5.8 - Caraun Reid - UT - Princeton
6.8 - Chris Watt - G - Notre Dame
7.8 - Connor Shaw - QB - South Carolina

UDFA - Zach Moore - DE - Concordia-St. Paul
UDFA - Antonio Andrews - RB - Western Kentucky

Rpm, interesting that you also included an SS (Bucannon) in your mock. You high on him as our 2nd rounder?

Personally I have Dion Bailey as a top 40 player in the draft but it seems that he could be available in the mid rounds. JMO, but hardly anything separating him and Kenny Vacarro as prospects.

I do like Bucannon a lot; he has a presence that he brings to the defense that I think would mesh well with Zimmer and Harrison Smith.

As a USC guy, I too of course like Bailey Very Happy

1-8 Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
2-8 Jimmie Ward, DB, Northern Illinois
3-8 Chris Borland, LB, Wisky
3-32 Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisky
4-8 Chris Smith, DE, Arkansas

I would be pretty ecstatic if the pieces fell like this. I will say, if Verret fell to the second, it would be really hard to pass on him.

I was wishing the same, but I just don't see it.

Interesting VD, what do you like about Quarles and what don't you like about the DT position?
