They would save money by cutting him, they could save even more by designating him as a post june 1st cut.

Its feasible that they could move on, but the bigger issue seems to be finding a better alternative. The Rams seem very likely to have 2 top 10 picks, there is no doubt that they have the ammo to get whatever QB they want. But again, after Bridgewater, there is a lot of uncertainty.

Had a hard time determining where to put this, but I figured it best falls under snooze news...

--

An attempt failed Friday by American Indian activists to get the Minnesota Vikings and the public body overseeing construction of the teamís new stadium to ban the display and broadcasting of the Washington Redskinsí nickname and logo when the NFL team plays at the Metrodome on Nov. 7.

Officials for the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which operates the Metrodome and is the developer of the Vikingsí new stadium, said during its meeting Friday that it lacks the authority to ban the use of the name and logo at the game.

Longtime activist Clyde Bellecourt and several other representatives of the Minneapolis-based American Indian Movement attended the meeting and lobbied the board to ban the printing or broadcasting of the Redskinsí nickname and logo.

The group met with authority and Vikings officials Thursday to express concerns that the nickname is derogatory and destructive and reinforces hurtful stereotypes.

Activists cited more than a dozen laws that the authority would be breaking if the nickname and logo were displayed or broadcast.

The group has said it will consider filing a class-action lawsuit as part of its effort.

The Chiefs are 2.5 quarters away from owing the 49ers a 2nd round draft pick in this years draft.

Often forgotten, for those of you who wanted Alex Smith so badly, is the Chiefs traded a 2nd last year and either a 2nd or 3rd this year. If the Chiefs reach 8 wins, the pick is a 2nd rounder.

Would you have traded two second round picks for Alex Smith? Or, even a 2nd and 3rd?

Definitely not. Smith is a doing what he has always done. He is a taking care of the football but isn't a threat as a passer. Currently has the longest streak of attempts between TD passes.

The Chiefs traded the 33rd pick in the draft. The Vikings woudl have had to have given up the 25th pick in the draft.

So in reality, it would have been a first round pick and a future second round pick.

@NFL_ATL: Jaguars announce WR Justin Blackmon has been suspended indefinitely.

Smh... He was 3rd or 4th in the nfl in yards per route run since coming back from his original suspension.

I never expected this from Blackmon. I wonder what for.

We should all be thankful that mn dodged this bullett on draft day. Blackmon needs serious help, I wouldn't be surprised if the jags try and trade him in the offseason

It isn't easy to just break some addictions......not an excuse, just a statement. We might want to remember that there are definitely genetic things in play in most addictions, and not be completely dismissive of him.

Teams likely dont care if he cant control himself, he will be out of a job. NFL teams shouldnt have sympathy for players like Blackmon if it causes suspensions, especially for a player like Blackmon who very well could face a year long suspension if he doesnt fix his issues. NFL players are on a short leash, perhaps Blackmon is unable to have an NFL career because of this.

The substance-abuse violation is Blackmon's second in just over six months. Blackmon missed the first four games of the 2013 season after violating the league's substance-abuse policy in April.

Blackmon is technically suspended indefinitely, according to the league. However, a second violation generally means an eight-game suspension and that's how many games the Jaguars have left this season. So Blackmon will sit out the rest of the 2013 season before presumably applying for reinstatement next year.
