Roger Goodell: “If there’s any single reason for the incredible success of the NFL, it’s because we’ve never allowed ourselves to be complacent about anything. There is a national conversation taking place about football. We welcome it. That’s how we approach our jobs every day: Looking at changes to the game not as something to be feared, but as something we need to do as if the future of the game relies on it. Because it does. The risk of injury in football is well known, but throughout history, football has evolved and become safer and better.”
“In recent years there has become a sharper focus on concussions in football and other sports. Let me make an important point here: Concussions are a global issue. Not just a football issue. We can and must do more to make the game safer, and in the process we will make other sports safer as well.”

NEW YORK—Contradicting statements made last year, New York Jets general manager John Idzik announced Monday that the team is still interested in keeping Tim Tebow on the roster as a much-needed excuse for next season’s struggles.
“In terms of being a scapegoat, we’ve never denied Tim’s effectiveness,” said Idzik, even suggesting that both Tebow and Mark Sanchez could return to split time as a major media distraction. “We relied heavily on Tebow every game last year, and we think he could be our fall guy again. But don’t get me wrong, we’re considering all our options when it comes to finding players we can pin all our problems on."

I thought I read the first sentence wrong, so I went back and read it a second time...and a third. Then I saw the link.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Free-agent WR Brandon Gibson is getting ready to sign with the Dolphins.

That is kind of crazy...but, I guess if you got money to burn?
We'll see how they piece it altogether, however. I certainly liked Gibson, but with Wallace there too, it'll be interesting. _________________

Is there anybody on that team that can actually run the ball, though?
It appears that the Dolphins also have Jeff Fuller on the roster, I know I liked him for the Vikings late in the draft last year...maybe, they'll cut him and the Vikings can stick him in the back end of their roster. _________________

Tannehill I guess?
They must really like Lamar Miller. _________________

Or, they'll use their draft pick to fill that hole....much easier to find a starting RB in round 2/3 than a WR as good as the two new ones they just signed. _________________ Wins are a team stat, not a QB stat |

True. But, I wonder if Wallace will be upset now, because now he'll have to split receptions with Gibson and Hartline, rather than just the one...not to mention Davone Bess, who is underrated as well. _________________
