Had Manziel been drafted near the top of Round 2 by the Jaguars I would be much more optimistic for his future. In Cleveland I think he's going to fail...

Sorry, what? The Jacksonville Jaguars?

They've been terrible for years now. And they took your #4 QB 3rd overall, despite better players available and presumably some options to trade down. You're impressed with their management for some reason?

The Jags only have Cecil Shorts and a couple of rookie 2nd rounders at WR. Their version of Josh Gordon is Justin Blackmon, who won't play this year or possibly ever again. Their OL is terrible and they gave Zane Beadles $30M, which is insane. Toby Gerhart deserves a shot but he's not likely going to win games by himself. Their defense isn't great. Their HC is a largely unproven former defensive coordinator (comparable situation to Cleveland).

The Browns don't have much at WR but their TE is great and the OL and running game should be solid. Don't think Manziel is in much worse of a situation than Bortles (or Carr for that matter).

I thought Manziel to Houston in round 2 would have been the best possible landing spot for all parties. Perhaps its just Cleveland, but it seems every QB that goes there is destined for failure or very limited success at best.

Take away Gordon, what does Cleveland really have outside of Cameron?

I'd be cautious playing Manziel this year, I just dont think he is NFL ready like Bridgewater or Bortles. Let Manziel sit on the bench until he matures into the role and learns the playbook. Cleveland than should approach the 2015 draft with the mindset of building around Manziel. I dont like any of Clevelands WR for the future. Hawkins looks like a solid slot player but you traditionally cant run an offense built around a 5-7 slot WR and TE.

The Browns have a very good defense on paper. Excellent front 7 and good CBs.

Offensively, they are a potential mess.

I also feel like Norv made Cameron look better than he actually is. He's still a good TE, but I don't think he's top-3 good.

The timing of these photos with Josh Gordon's alcohol dependency issues doesnt paint the Browns in a positive light. I can see where the Browns owner may have been going with the tone it down remark. Its the owners duty to try and promote a positive image of his team and business. There is certainly an image that needs to be cleansed with the fallout of Gordon, doesnt help when the face of your franchise seems to have a weekly photo of a party involving alcohol.

Sure Manziel has not gotten into trouble yet, that doesnt mean he wont in the future. It seems that alcohol dependency is only taken seriously when you get behind the wheel and commit a crime. Its not viewed as a problem for Manziel but it is for Gordon.

Andre Johnson has already said he’s not sure he’ll show up for Texans training camp. But what he really wants is to show up for someone else’s.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Johnson has told the Texans he wants to play elsewhere, and four teams are interested in making a move. But to this point, the Texans haven’t budged, on money or location.

That certainly wouldn't be much of an upgrade for Andre.

Laughing

I believe he said he wanted to play with a better QB... [check link below]

Kansas City
San Diego
Carolina
Seattle

would any of those teams be willing to trade for Johnson?

What are the current salary cap situations of teams? Could Seattle afford that 10 million dollar salary?

If I was Houston, I'd trade him to Oakland to play with Schaub again Laughing I'm just a jerk like that...

Seattle still has about $7M in space, so they'd be able to figure out a way to manipulate the numbers and make it work. The question is whether they would want to push the contract back further, considering all the free agents that will come up in 2016 (which also is the last year of Johnson's deal), which include Marshawn, Bruce Irvin, Russell Okung, Bobby Wagner, and the big one, Russell Wilson (who certainly is going to want to make up for being such a tremendous bargain the last few years).
