I think Slaton in a way got screwed over.

While no one really thought of him as an elite back, he was still getting lots of hype and had a chance at being a high 2nd round pick.

However, with Noel Devine, Slaton was smart enough to realize that Devine was only going to hurt his chances and he coudlnt really go much higher in his situation. With Rodriguez gone, he had nothing to gain in college.

I think he will be a late 2nd round pick if he achieves expectations on his 40 time, but more realistically an early to mid 3rd rounder.

I think this was actually good for him because noel devine will steal his carries next year.So he wouldn't post up better numbers than he did this year. That means the only reason he would stat is for a title, but that would also risk a serious injury.

Smart move by Slaton. He was starting to get phased out a little by Noel Devine and I think his stock was starting to fall as well.

With a new coach coming in, nobody knows how he'd be utilized and it's definitely best to cash his chips now than risk absolutely murdering his stock by suffering an injury or falling out of favor in the new regime.

Mistake. With all the other JR RB's in this draft not to mention the seniors and given that fact that he played in that spread offense in college I think he will drop into the 4th round easly.

Dumb move Stevie. You will be a 3rd rounder at best. You would of been better off staying your senior year to see if you can improve.

I dont think this was a good decision for Slaton after a disapointing season by his standards. I think he should have stayed in school and returned to the style of football that made him so dominant as a freshmen and sophomore, even if that meant splitting carries with Devine. He bulked up way to much and his speed and ability suffered. As a WVU fan, I'd be suprised if Slaton is ever anything more than a good 3rd down back and he needs to be in the right offense.

I'm loving this. I don't care about WVU but i am a HUGE Noel Devine fan. Slaton put on too much weight and got a gut on him and he has slowed down significantly. Now my boy Noel is gonna get the majority of the carries and people will know about him even more than they already do. After the Fiesta Bowl i think Slaton saw what everyone else did and thats how good Devine is.
