Vernon Gholton declares for draft. No big surprise here. Should be a top 10-15 pick after combine. I think he is better suited as a 3-4 OLB than a true DE.

Well, so much for Gholston rumored to be staying.
Good decision on his part, might as well go while your stock is rising. He should, like you said, be a top 10-15 pick after the combine. |

| Very surprised Jenkins is staying. He should be a top pick next year. |

Good choice for Malcolm Jenkins. He's a solid prospect but he had a bad bowl game. I'm not saying that the one game would have a terrible effect on his draft status, but who wants to go out losing?
He makes the CB class for next year stronger. _________________

Jenkins would've been top CB taken and top 12 pick. _________________

Theres no official word yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement came before too long, now that everyone else is deciding.
This has to mean that he is making this decision alone, and not based on what Gholston or Jenkins or whoever is deciding.
I think he'll end up staying, but either way, he'll be in good shape. |

Yeah same here, I really thought he was coming out this year, because he is the Top CB in the draft Right Now.
Vernon Gholton is ranked as my 2nd DE in the draft, and he is one of those players I would love the Eagles trade up and get. _________________

I completely agree. Although Jenkins would have been a top prospect (first rounder) in this year's draft, the kid seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. He knows he can get better. I mean, look at this comment from him:
"What's important to me is accomplishing more. I want to win the Thorpe. I want to be a first-team All-American," Jenkins said. "I want to win a national championship. I want to experience a senior season. You can't put a price tag on that. To be paid to play football is just a benefit. I'm not ready to transition to the next stage of my life yet." |
