It's probably somewhere on the board already, but I haven't seen this article...
Jaguars | Jones' Performance Turning Heads
Thu, 23 Jun 2005 19:57:22 -0700
Vic Ketchman, of Jaguars.com, reports Jacksonville Jaguars rookie WR Matt Jones may have had the best few days of practice in his young career earlier this week during organized team activities. Both head coach Jack Del Rio and QB Byron Leftwich commented on Jones' fine play. _________________

I don't know that he'll start right away, but if Reggie doesn't get it together and Jones continues to impress, he could take the spot opposite Smith. _________________

If Reggie is on his way to another 200 yard season half way through, they are certainly going to make a change. Jones is impressing, Williams is only one year older, I don't know why it'd be out of the equasion. I'd put my money on Williams starting, but I wouldn't put Jones out of the equasion. _________________

Ok... but what I am saying, is that there is no way Reggie Williams puts up only 200 yards. Natedawg, you are very low on him... I think you'll be surprised, maybe not though. Jones is still adjusting and Reggie is playing better, thats why I think Reggie will start and we'll work Matt into the equation over the years.
IMO, Matt may even be #3, behing Troy Edwards who is said to be playing the best of ANY wideout so far |

I really hope that Reggie Williams does well...I really do. I don't think that he will have 200 yards half way through the season, that was an exaggeration...but from what I saw last year, until he proves me wrong, which I hope he does...he was a mistake at #9. I like Jones more, and think he will be better than Redge...but I hope Redge has a great career, because him and Jones in the future would be a great combo, and the Jags need Reggie to step up. _________________

Ernest Wilford...ha ha...nah, I'd go with Jimmy Smith. Wilford was a great value pick last year though. Not sure how he'll fit into the plans this year though. He's a good receiver with good hands...I think what holds him back is lack of speed and acceleration of the line of scrimmage. _________________

| Yeah hes definately real good, but WR is just a position where we are packed right now.. hes going to have to be patient, but he'll get his snaps |

Yeah, Wilford will have to be patient...It may be another 2 years or 3 before he gets his shot. The starting WR then would probably be R. Williams, M. Jones, and E. Wilford. Just guessing that Jimmy will retire after we win 2 superbowls or he may wait till we get the third one. _________________

I agree with that, but I hate to think about Jimmy retiring, he said hes got about three more years in his legs. BTW, wheres Troy Edwards?!?! |

I hope that Jimmy Smith never retires also. he is one of my favorite players all-time. I forgot about Troy also...thats why he will sneak up on people this year and suprise alot of people and you could add him to the 3 i mentioned earlier. _________________
