According to the Baltimore Sun, Bryant McKinnie’s deal with the Ravens has a base value of $6.3 million with incentives that could push it close to $7 million.
The 33-year-old left tackle got a $2 million bonus and $1 million in base salary this year. Next season, the Ravens have to decide whether to give him a $500,000 roster bonus and a $2 million salary. There are workout bonuses of $200,000 each year, along with $200,000 reporting bonuses, which should provide some incentive for him to show up on time and in shape, which hasn’t always been the case.

The Browns certainly have a lot of cap space, but Conley is cheaper. Also, the Browns have already got enough negative media exposure from their owner's "issues" that they don't need Kluwe shining a brighter light on them, which could potentially expose more nonsense. _________________

Or maybe Kluwe was offered, but thought he could do better than the Browns. _________________

Well, at least on the Browns, he'd get a lot of opportunities to punt the ball. _________________ However, you're right that it did improve a bit. I'm just not sure I trust our coaching staff to develop offensive lineman. |

The Bills were awarded tight end Mickey Shuler on waivers Tuesday.
Shuler (6-4, 247) was waived Monday by the Raiders. He spent most of last season on Oakland’s practice squad and previously had stints with Miami, Cincinnati and Minnesota. He was a seventh-round pick of the Vikings in 2010.

Man at least he's getting to go to new places I guess. Seems like a lot of bouncing around in such a short time. _________________

Tarvaris, Kolb, and EJ Manuel? I imagine one way or the other, Manuel will end up starting sometime this season. It's question of whether Tarvaris or Kolb will end up as the primary backup. Can you believe that Tarvaris just turned 30 and is going into his 8th year? It seems like just yesterday we were talking about how young and raw he was. I think his NFL career has just got to be about done. _________________

Ray Edwards: “Football is the only sport that is 100-percent injury prone. You don’t know what is coming, where you are going to get hit, how you are going to get hit. You play for a long time, chances are you are going to tear your MCL or ACL. You can break your leg, snap your femur, break your arm, break your neck. In boxing you know where the hits are coming from – it is the guy stood in front of you. In boxing you might break your hand or break your nose and if you get knocked out you can get a concussion. But also, the referee is right there and you are more protected. In football, you never know. The game moves at such a pace that you might never see it coming. You can get hit when you are completely defenseless.”
Dr. Anthony Alessi, a veteran ringside doctor: “There is some faulty thinking there. In football, accidents and injuries are a byproduct of the game, but the main objective is to get the ball over the line and score points. In boxing, the object of the sport is to neurologically impair your opponent, to injure their brain in some way to stop them from performing. It sounds graphic, but that is effectively what you are looking for – a knockout.”

Maybe Kluwe can pry the number 8 from draftee Tyler Wilson (Guy's number). _________________
