Troy Williamson was great... at dropping the ball. Never seen a WR with such bad hands.

We also passed on Rodgers, not once, but twice...

Pretty horrible draft.

We had no need for QB at that time, or so we thought. Culpepper was coming off a season with 37 TDs and just 11 INTs.

Right, Culpepper was in the running for MVP in 2004. Taking a first rd QB would have made no sense in 2005.

While it still remains to be seen if Chris Kluwe’s decision to help fellow punter Marquette King will cost him his job with the Raiders, it’s at least helped King stay in the race. According to Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group, the fight to secure the job is still “too close to call.”

King has the booming leg while Kluwe knows the intricacies of how to best take advantage of his. Kluwe concedes that he can’t keep up with King from a distance standpoint, but the Raiders want to see King improve some of the finer points of punting in order to take the job from Kluwe.

The latest lawsuit against the NFL over concussions includes former Pro Bowlers Clinton Portis and Daunte Culpepper as plaintiffs.

The Washington Times reports that Portis is the lead plaintiff in an 83-player lawsuit filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Portis recently said he played through concussions “all the time” during his nine-year career with Denver and Washington.

Culpepper, who played for the Vikings, Dolphins, Raiders and Lions, and former NFL running back Cadillac Williams are among the 82 co-plaintiffs.

Pete Carroll said there is still no timeline on Percy Harvin's return, but that reports from the surgeon were positive.

Carroll: "We just know that the surgeon that did the work was thrilled with the way he came back the days right after the surgery, and his ability to get range of motion and things were way ahead of schedule, so that’s a great sign. We’re hopeful, whatever that means. We won’t know, it’s going to take a good month before we can figure if he’s even going to have a chance to come roaring back out of it, but it looks like all of the signs are very good. So we’ll see what that means, but we’re not putting any weeks on it. We don’t know."

I'm not surprised he's ahead of schedule. If he's on the PUP list, the soonest he can come back is 6 weeks, right? I bet he plays almost as soon as he's allowed to, and that he gets up to full speed right away.

The Seahawks continue to do an excellent job managing Harvin in this situation, giving him full support even to pursue a course of treatment their staff recommended against, and not imposing any timeline as to his return. I bet that will pay off with improved trust from Harvin for Seattle's coaching and management, making it easier for him to come roaring back at full speed. If Harvin feels Carroll will let him do whatever he needs to do to feel healthy and ready to play on Sunday, that will bode well for him for the next several years.

an article about how Red McCombs tried to replace Mike Tice as head coach with Bud Grant in 2004, but Bud wouldn't take the bait. or the money offered.
