The trade that will send veteran quarterback Tarvaris Jackson to Buffalo isnít done yet, a source with direct knowledge of the situation. The sticking point at this point is the compensation Jackson will receive from the Bills. Jackson currently is due to receive a base salary of $4 million in 2012, the last year of his current deal.

Per the source, itís believed the deal will be finalized, soon. Itís unknown whether the Bills would keep either Tylor Thigpen or Vince Young if they land Jackson. Thereís a chance theyíll keep neither; Jacksonís eventual contract could shed significant light on whether one or both of the incumbent backups will stick around.

The compensation that the Bills will be sending to Seattle isnít known, either. Early speculation has settled on a 2013 draft pick in the fifth-to-sixth-round range.

Jackson moving onto Buffalo, just makes the whole "Jackson vs. Young" thing that Vikings fans and Titans fans had going, very, very funny. It has gone from a "who will be better" argument, to a "who sucks less" discussion.

Either way, we win!

Why is Buffalo hoarding Viking QBs? Do we need to start Favre Watch 2013?

It's times like this when I wish that I lived 2 hours outside of Buffalo and 20 minutes from where they have their training camp.

Oh wait...

Buffalo is quite a bit warmer than Minneapolis in the winter time. It just happens to be in the Snow Belt.

I think he's got the spot locked up as the #2. Otherwise, they probably wouldn't have made a move.

If things turn ugly in Buffalo though, I could see him replacing Fitzpatrick.

As for my other question, is Longwell a possibility to go to Oakland?

I would say no, simply because of the kickoffs factor.

And the latest on Janikowski is that his groin injury appears to be minor.

Jackson played 15 games with a torn pectoral muscle. Yes, he wasn't good, but I respect any player willing to do that.

the Bills now have two former Viking QB's on their roster. that can't happen very often to any pair of teams, i bet.

Seahawks will receive a 7th round pick from the Bills for QB Tarvaris Jackson, it could turn into a 6th round pick if he plays 6 games.

Kerry Taylor was claimed by the Patriots. I liked him and he had a good camp. Will keep an eye on him under Belicheck.
