Percy Harvin yet to finalize 2nd opinion on hip, with that process ongoing. If surgery required as 1st Dr. recommended likely season ending

Interested to hear about Percy Harvin's 2nd opinion on Tues. Seahawks doctor didn't recommend surgery on hip. It is a possible option, tho

re: Harvin's hip--

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that they’ll get some more insight on Tuesday. According to Schefter, Harvin is going to travel to New York to get a second opinion from Dr. Bryan Kelly. Kelly specializes in hip injuries and performed surgery on New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez’s torn labrum earlier this year among many other operations.

D’Imperio, a converted linebacker, played 12 games for the Vikings in 2011 and did not play at all last season after failing to make the team out of training camp. He spent some time this offseason on the Chiefs roster, but was released in May.

I'd love to get Winfield back, id have cut several other players before getting rid of Winfield.

Perhaps if Floyd shows enough at UT, MN gets rid of KW who at this point in his career isnt that good of a run defender and is a poor pass rusher. At least last year he wasnt, but he may hvae just had a down year.

Probably not, but id have done it in a heart beat based on his play last year to keep Winfield around.

Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe watched the Ravens’ Friday training-camp practice with GM Ozzie Newsome, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reported. According to the Sun, the Ravens are “considering signing Shiancoe,” who reportedly was to work out for Tampa Bay earlier this week.

Birk missed 2005 with his hip injury.

Sidney missed 2010(?).

Harvin 2013 (?).

I'm perplexed.

36 yo with a potentially season-ending injury.... wanted back..... for what?

{ Psst; Rhodes! }

Spielman's decision to negotiate a reduced salary should now make more sense to those who first doubted Spielman's judgement or disagreed vehemently with Winfield's release. The Vikes doctors certainly provided their informed insight to Spielman early in the offseason.

I previously used the term 'injury prone' or 'more susceptible to injury' in the discussions at that time. That was based both on his age and his recent injury experience.

I do not disagree that 2012 was a good year, statistically, for Winfield. That notwithstanding, his performance is likely to decline in 2013 or 2014 because the most recent experience (2012) cannot override the inevitable decline due to age and accumulated injuries.
