Is it true that the Bucs are over the cap. by 14 million, if so basically wou will have to release all free agents and move practice sqaud guys up and trade down in the draft and drat that mcphearse quarterback and runningback Maurice Clarett. I can kind of see Clarett going to the Bucs. _________________

| ok yes the bucs are in cap trouble but as far as trading down or releasing all our fa's thats absurd.... if they trade down itll be for extra picks not cuz theres no way they'll be able to afford it |

The cap situation is fine, not great, but they will have plenty of space. They are currently between 10-12 million over this years cap with next year’s contracts. Compare that to the 38 million the Raiders were over two years ago in January, and they came out of FA about 8 million under!
Considering the following when looking at the cap:
2004-05 cap rises $5 million
The figures include $8.1 million for Griese
The figure includes $6.5 million for Brad Johnson
Restructure Griese and release Johnson on June 1st, and the Bucs will be about $2-3 million under.
Then restructure a few players, Brooks and Rice can be reduced from a $18 million cap hit to about $8-10 million hit, plus one or two other restructures. They will be around $15 million under for FA, and with backend weighted deals that will be plenty to sign a couple of good FA.
BTW - The Raiders were 38 million over in January 2002, three months later they came out of FA and the draft 5 million under....the cap is smoke and mirrors. |

| The salaries are on nflpa.org, but that doesn't show signing bonuses and cap numbers. The lost above only shows salaries and is not the treu picture, for instantance Brooks is a 8+ million cap hit next year. |

| We are not going to release Shelton Quarles maybe rrestructt his contract but not release. Funny though you lleft out Mike Alstott, I like the guy but he has missed one whole season due to injury and in Gruden's offense he is not that valueable. |
