What happened to staying another year Charles
Oh well. Best of luck to him in the NFL. He seems like a late 1st/early 2nd round kinda guy. _________________

agree with the late first early 2nd, if he impresses the scouts at the combine hell be a 1st, but if he doesnt then more like 2nd-3rd round

imo this was a dumb move,he could have been 1 of the top rb's picked next year.if he has a good combine he could be a late 1st or early 2nd rd pick _________________

Actually, next year looks to be better than this year. Next year, theres guys like Chris Wells, CJ Spiller, maybe Mendenhall, Kevin Smith, Felix Jones, etc. This year, after McFadden and Stewart, who else is left? Maybe Mendenhall, but you could go either way with Charles and Mendenhall depending on what you want. _________________

I think he's late 2nd, early 3rd. He'll need to go to the right system. He's a one cut back that would thrive in systems like GB, Denver, and NE. _________________

I love it! Charles would be my fourth best RB coming out.
1. Stewart
2. DMC
3. Mendenhall
4. Charles _________________

Jamaal Charles is one of the most underrated prospects in the draft he is 6'1 205 and he has ran a 4.2 40 Yard dash if he can do that at the combine he could be a first round pick.

| He is a great player, but im not sure about how NFL ready he is. He seems very much like a poor version of Reggie Bush. |

I doubt Charles would have come out if he hadn't gotten a first round grade from the advisory board.
He has the physical tools and the production. Guys like that don't fall to the second round. He's a late first guy at worst.
EDIT:

But don't you see? That's perfect. You don't want to be Reggie Bush, because then you are expected to come in and set the world on fire, when you aren't capable of it. He's going to go to some team in the late first, that can use him exactly how he should be early in his career: as a situational guy and home run threat. _________________

All these 4.2's seem to end up more around 4.4 come combine time. _________________

I think if he fell to the 3rd round whoever takes him would be getting a steal. In my opinion he'll go early to mid 2nd round. RB is a position where teams will draft for a change of pace back. I think he'd fit in well somewhere as that. (Kinda like Marion Barber was drafted by Dallas when they had Julius Jones still there.)
** First of all don't quote wikipedia as a source because wikipedia is a user-provided site where people can just put down anything, and say it's true.
Secondly ... http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/columns/story?columnist=mcshay_todd&id=3171052
^ Says he ran a 4.35, and they had staying Opps guess he changed his mind.
He may have to compete with, Ray Rice, Mendenhall, Slaton, and Felix Jones for the 3rd back taken in the draft. (First two will probably be Stewart and McFadden if they come out.) That's just the other Junior RBs too there's still Mike Hart, Chris Johnson, and Jacob Hester.
Damn he may not get taken until the 3rd now There's A LOT of RB depth if all those junior RBs come out. _________________
