Thought we could make a topic regarding the Senior Bowl.

So far we have met up with Iowa tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz through walterfootball.

I heard we aren't at the senior bowl because Ross is on a different continent and Philbin and staff are hanging out in Miami

Not sure where you heard that.

The Dolphins do have scouts and assistant GM Brian Gaine at the Senior Bowl but their future w/ team is uncertain.

Asst. GM Gaines and Scouting team is there, does not mean alot as we have no idea who we are bringing in. Unless Gaines is the selection, then we are there in force. I hope its not Gaines, but time will tell.

The Dolphins organization is really looking clueless at the top. Never mind that Ireland is gone, we may now face the "until the current ownership is gone" the Dolphins only chance of going to the Super Bowl is if someone buys them a ticket.

C'mon man, who is going to be making the decisions on free agents to pursue, strategy for the draft, players to resign, contracts to extend.

If that becomes the case, then we have our version of Al Davis, and with a Net Worth of 4.8 Billion, I do not see him selling anytime soon, he would have to pass on and leave the team to one of his 4 children. So lets hope we are not going down that road.

Every GM candidate is at the senior bowl evaluating already....Famrer is there, Xander is there....it is not like the person who is hired will have no idea about the players at the senior bowl...

We have scouts and our Assistant GM is there, however NO coaches are there. At least some coaches should be there.

At the end of the day does it mean the difference between a good draft or bad draft? Probably not . With that said when you been stuck for 10-12 some odd years of being average on and off the field as a organization and league wide perception among executives about you is not good , it's not a good look. Its really not the end of the world either or no bearing on futures success or lack of. What does get me a little but not a lot is no Philbin look if it's not a big deal then why is every coach in our division there? Harbaugh just had a crushing defeat 2 days ago he thought it was important enough to go. Despite the practices it's also a chance see how players react to this or that and meet the players one on one. Overall not going to make or break anything we do in the off season. I am hopeful we hire Farmer and that his vision and ability to identify talent leads us to success.

I think Philbing not being there is proof of one thing, he has already been told that he will have "ZERO" input in regards to personnell. Think about it from Philbins perspective. Ross has sat you down and advised you that you are on thin ice, all personnell decisions will be made by the new GM, your job is to build the best playbook, and best coaching plan you can and work with the vets who will be here next year.

So why in the world would you want to wast your time looking at players that you have no authority to draft. You would want to be working with your assistants, formulating your playbook for next year.

I think you guys are reading a lot into this while forgetting to take a couple of important points into consideration.

Philbin has a new OC and LB coach. These gys need to meet with Philbin and look at the teams talent and judge what the focus of the draft needs to be. IMHO time is better spent in that area than looking at draft prospects with no clear idea of the current rosters ability and talent. Let gaines do his job and the coaches do theirs. There will be tape of all the players to look at. There will be pro days and the combine. Best for the coaching staff to meet, decide on the structure of the team, and then determine which players must be obtained.

No point in going to shop for cars until you find out if your new wife is sterile or pregnant with tripletts.

Didn't think of this, makes sense. Checks and balances, clear division of labor.

I have decided to take the bait. If what your saying or implying is that Philbin has been told he is on thin ice and to just stay back worry about game planning and work on the playbook with the new OC and has been told he has no say or opinion in personnel is true? Or better yet is the new GM going to be told to pick Philbin type players to fit what he being Philbin wants to do? Is the new GM being told he has to build the football team a certain way as opposed to what he (the GM)thinks is the best way to build a winning football team? and if the GM gets to decide what type of players he wants (as you suggest) then how can you be game planning if you don't know what type of team the new GM wants. If they are not working together then why the hell should Philbin still be our head coach? and you see why no GM wants this job?

Where there is smoke there is fire and sometimes perception is reality some can sugar coat it all they want, there is a reason we have been laughing stock for years.

No GM wants to be a puppet no real GM with clout that is

my guess is it will be Gaine because he will be the yes man to Philbin and Aponte and are we really going through all this because of Philbin and Aponte?

Its bad enough we have a coach that the players do not think highly of or TRUST and has voided the team of leaders now we have numerous GM's and assistant GM's turning us down because of no structure or leadership.
