The first predictable selection since Tannehill.

Glad you guys went receiver. I want Tannehill to succeed. I also don't think it's ever a good idea to take a receiver in round one though, so it also benefited my Packers. Hope it works out well for you.

I think it's a solid pick. I think our corps of WR is now better on paper than I can ever remember. I think Parker is exactly the kind of WR that Tannehill needs to be able to throw the ball deep. Parker excels at high pointing the ball and making the difficult contested catches.

I would love to see an OG or LB in round 2. I have a feeling Denzel Perryman may be on our radar in the second round.

That's a comparison I've been reading a lot lately. If he's remotely close to Green, it's a great pick.

He's the first WR with size the Dolphins have ever had since Tannehill came along, and he has deep speed and high point ability. He adds a different dimension to what is looking like one of the best WR groups in the NFL right now.

If he turns out to be anything like AJ Green we are solid at WR for years to come.

Parker/Landry/Stills a young WR corp.

Wasn't a huge fan of the pick, but I liked it.

Started thinking about the potential for something actually going right for the dolphins, and the idea of Landry/Parker/Stills with Cameron at TE can only get you excited. Still hoping we finish our O-line in round 2 though.

P.S. I understand LB and a DB are needs but i'm forgetting those in round 2 only because while our defense faded last year, our offense never sustained at any point. If we're going "all in" on Tannehill lets set it up for him, or in worse case the next guy, if he doesn't succeed. Also, any LB we put behind Suh will be better. I love the pick. I don't believe in drafting OGs in R1 and I think our need at CB is not as pressing as some people believe (we have Grimes and then we have 3 players competing to start opposite him as well as a dedicated nickel CB). There obviously weren't any Kuechly-like ILBs in this draft either (though I will be praying that Kendricks makes it to our R2 pick now).

Parker is a special WR but crucially one who doesn't have the diva attitude to go along with it. Next season our WR room will have Greg Jennings hopefully providing the leadership and role model for some talented young players - then I suspect we cut Jennings after next year and let Parker, Stills and Landry blossom.

Colour me excited! Laughing

It seems that Parker was #3 on the Dolphins board, behind Gurley, and Waynes. That being said it was amazing to see a player that the Phins loved fall into their lap. Every scout I watched talked about Parkers maturity, his discipline, concentration, and great hands. And he was compared to A.J. Green by just about every scout. We now have a lethal WR core.

Stills Landry
Parker Jennings

I've watched a bit more tape of Parker. I think he's a great pick at 14 who has all the physical skills to be a true #1 WR (and AJ Green type) as well as being a really high character guy apparently.

Like a lot of college WRs his tape does show some laziness and lack of burst off the line of scrimmage especially when he's pressed. He doesn't have blazing speed so when he doesn't explode off the line he struggles to create separation. But he often makes up for that with his phenomenal catch radius and great hands, particularly on the jump ball.

I think we'll see him used by the Dolphins early in his career as a red zone threat and third down WR, while he learns to finesse his route running and works at getting off the jam. Next year he will probably be our WR4 in terms of snap count behind Landry, Jennings and Stills, but long term he projects as a true #1 who should be a 1000 yard 8 TD a year sort of guy.

I'm cool with the pick, I understand the reasoning. Plus it not like our goal is to fail in the first half or we drafted his whole family.

I love Parker's jump ball ability, body control, the way he attacks the ball in air, his catch radius and his terrific hands.

I don't love his less than ideal route runner, his lack of short area quickness and burst, and the questions regarding his ability to get through press coverage.

Overall not a terrible pick, especially considering how the board was decimated in front of us. This is a pretty crappy draft overall, IMO.

Great pick for the offence. Weapons are legit now.

Need Oline, ILB and depth.
