The dreaded high ankle sprain... they tend to linger. I bet Chargers GM AJ Smith wishes he hadn't been so demanding in trade negotiations. Now he may lose Turner for a decent part of the year and get nothing in return _________________

High ankle sprains are 10x worse than broken ankles. Not good news for SD. _________________

| High ankle sprains are bad, not good news for them. Not like LT wouldn't get the majority anyway, but Turner is great insurance. |

| Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I saw the replays. I was hopeing it wasn't that bad. I love having the Luxury of Turner. I'm thankful we have LT at full strength but Turner will be missed as he is the best backup in the NFL. |

He's also my handcuff to LT in my fantasy league. Here's to hoping he makes a quick recovery. *raises glass*
...but let's not get too carried away, the less weapons the Chargers have at Arrowhead, the better! _________________

The still have Darren Sproles who had a very nice TD run vs AZ. HE will prove to be an adequate backup. _________________ Patrick Peterson - 92 targets, 40 catches allowed, 602 yards, 6 TD's, 7 INT's

I do trust a guy wth experience... My self. Last year I had I high ankle sprain and couldn't play football for the rest of the year. My freshman year, I broke my ankle and still made it to over 50% of the games. _________________

It's not as big of a loss as it seems, because Norv Turner said they will get LT 5-10 more touches each game, so that would take away from Michael Turner. But that really sucks, about thew injury, he's still a very good RB. _________________

It all depends on the severity of the sprain. If it's just a grade I (stretched ligaments), then that's not as bad as a break. If it's a grade II (partial tear) or a grade III (complete tear), the recovery time will be longer than that of a break.
Depending on the severity of the sprain, it's possible he'll need surgery to have a screw put in his ankle, which will prevent the ligaments from healing loose (due to th swelling pushing the ligaments out), and/or tie two ends of the ligament together. This can also increase recovery time, and it's possible (although doubtful with the care he'll receive) that the ankle will never be the same. |

| Man this stinks. He is going to lose a lot of money come next year because of this. I bet he doesnt come around until about week 10-12. Tough loss, as he is a good player. |

Turner's injury not as bad as first thought
It sounds like they are not too worried about the injury. He might be knacked up for the season opener. Tomlinson had his best games when Turner was injured last year. Sproles has just been amazing this preseason, he will definitley not be the bruiser Turner is, but could still be effective with 10 touches a game. |
