I'm making this so that we don't have to litter the whole front page of the News forum with threads about people being cut. Just post who from your team has been cut as the roster trimmings are starting to begin. Just be sure to post the link stating that the players were cut.
To start it out, here are the Chiefs first group of cuts.

Gardner is a former first round pick that we signed last season. It wasn't a huge surprise to see him leave. Maxey was our 5th round draft choice last year. He never really panned out, being injured most of the time. Pruneda was signed earlier this year from the Mexican League. It's slightly a surprise to see him leave in the first group of cuts. More than likely he will be brought back as a part of the practice squad.

This is probably a good idea. Instead of people making threads about a group of no name players getting cut they can just put it here. That doesn't deserve it's own thread, especially if nobody knows who they are.

It kind of surprised me too. He's been in the league four years unlike all the other players being cut who haven't even played one year. He used to play for the Ravens and the 49ers so he is more of a 3-4 LB and could probably line up as a DE in some situations. He also has good size at around 6'2 250.

This guy is a great fit for an OLB in a 3-4 on passing downs because he can get to the QB. he is not 6'2 250 he is even bigger 6'2 280 but can move. I didn't expect but we kinda have some young players that we drafted to play OLB so he was the odd man out.
Some one should give Marcus maxwell a shot because he could turn out to be something special at 6'4 215 and also very strong but he was also the odd man out because we have so much depth at the WR spot now but if it would have been last year the he would atleast made the team as a 4th string.

both green and maxwell surprised me, i thought for sure we would at least keep green. i dont know why but i always liked green. i hope he does well were ever he goes.

The cut of Green make me very happy. Hopefully a guy like Whis has seen him from his days in Balitmore and gives him a look to come into AZ, we are really struglling at the OLB spot, and the DE spot.

Not by me, not by many on the 49ers forum. I thought if he were to be cut, it would be the final cuts, not the first ones. I really liked Green as a backup OLB for our system. We have faith in Nolan and his decisions, but I was not expecting to see that name on the list.
I was also a bit surprised to see Maxwell on the list as well. Maxwell is obviously very young, only 24 years old, 6' 4" and 205 lbs which looks as though, with a little work, could be a very good red zone target. He was also in NFL Europe and led the league in recieving TD's and led the team in yardage (32 rec, 499 yards and 7 TD's) Also had a monster championship game with 5 receptions, 127 yards and 2 TD's. So the kid has the ability to play. I am surprised, after that strong performance that we didnt keep him around longer. |
