For me, it's a three horse race between Alex Rodriguez, Vladimir Guerrero, and Magglio Ordonez.
Alex Rodriguez already has it locked up, unless he goes into the slump to end all slumps. _________________

I think A-rod is a lock if the Yankees make the playoffs and if they dont he still has a great chance of winning it. _________________ My favorite teams

For now, it is Maggs.. after the season, many sports writers will pay attention on power and popularity first before look any further deep. In that case, Maggs has to keep hitting well until the season is over because his power is underrated, comparing to AROD.
Arod had up and down monthly whilst Maggs has been consistently throughout the season(except July) I know because I have Maggs on my league. 28-35 HRs a season for Maggs then he should be locked for his first MVP. _________________ [img][/img] |

I'll use WSAB (Win Shares Above Bench), Batting (Value as Batter), Fielding (Value as Fielder), VORP (Value Over Replacement Player), WSP (Win Share Percentage), Clutch (Clutch Rating), and RC/G (Runs Created Per Game) to see how these guys rank against eachother just because it's a pretty interesting thing to do. I like this way better than most others.
Alex Rodriguez: 16 WSAB, 22.2 B, 2.5 F, 65.4 VORP, 6.9 Clutch, 10.3 RC/G
Magglio Ordonez: 16 WSAB, 22.5 B, 1.5 F, 64.0 VORP, 6.3 Clutch, 10.6 RC/G
Vladimir Guerrero: 17 WSAB, 24.3 B, 1.2 F, 48.6 VORP, 6.7 Clutch, 9.0 RC/G
It basically shows a dead heat between the three guys with Guerrero being a slight bit behind the other two, but not by much. _________________

They can win MVP.
Big7BenMVP you used all those stats to show it's close but if you look at the basic stats A-rod is ahead by a lot more than your stats show.
A-Rod- 106 Runs, 39 HRs, 114 RBIs, .300 AVG, .408 OBP, .636 SLG
Magglio-89 Runs, 21 HRs, 102 RBIs, .357 AVG, .431 OBP, .599 SLG
Vlad- 65 Runs, 18 HRs, 90 RBIs, .323 AVG, .409 OBP, .542 SLG
Plus A-Rod has 13 stolen bases compared to Magglio and Vlad's 2 stolen bases and A-Rod has a great chance of winning a gold glove. _________________ My favorite teams

Guerrero is the only offensive threat on his team, when you truly think about it. The other two guys are surrounded by offensive superstars.
If you're talking about in terms of true value, I think it's hard to argue against Guerrero being the guy. _________________

but you have to look at 2 thing what each player does best
1st
Magglio hits for average, which he does has been better than anyone in the league this year, and his power numbers for him a hitter that hits for average is amazing
and A-rod hits for Power which he has done as the best in the league
so A-rod is best in the league as what he does best, but he average is not that great for him (and just .255 since the All-Star break)
Magglio has been the best in just geting on base and hitting for average, and he also has amazing power numbers for him
so A-rod has been the best at what he does
and Magglio has been the best at what he does with a bunch of extras
2nd
you have to consider how valuable to their team
Its mainly opinion, but I would say Maggs has been more valuable for his team than A-Rod has been for his
Maggs has been the perfact player for his team, and is their best hitter
A-rod has been great at driving in runs, but hasnt hit for average very well which definatly hurts his team (like I said earlier worst on his team with .255) and he almost has 30 more strikeouts than Maggs (A-Rod has 87 and Maggs only has 58 which is a 29 strikeout difference) which definatly hurts a team (A-Rod is also worst on his team at striking out)
so I would say Maggs is more valuable for his team than A-Rod is
so thats why I would say Maggs is the MVP _________________

You also have to look at who they play with and how much true value they have to each team.
Without Guerrero, the Angels are about ten games below .500, no doubt about that. His arm, his bat, his presence is the reason the Angels win a lot of games. _________________

yes I definatly agree, but like I broke it down earlier, its 3 things in my opinion
Stats
A-Rod>Maggs>Vlad
True Value
Vlad>Maggs>A-Rod
How well they have done what they do best this year
Maggs>A-Rod>Vlad
so in that the lowest point total would win
1. Maggs 5
2. A-Rod 6
3. Vlad 7
of course their are variables, and the amount of difference between 1, 2, and 3, but thats still how I would rank them _________________
