Dolphins sign Beck

Dolphins agreed to terms with second-round QB John Beck on a four-year contract. The deal includes $2.25 million in guarantees.

Beck, the fourth signal caller drafted in April, completed 69 percent of his passes as a senior at Brigham Young, where he started all four years. Beck seems likely to pass Cleo Lemon to become Trent Green's top backup by mid-season. The 'Fins will now turn their attention to No. 9 pick Ted Ginn.

thats a good move by the Fins. them and the skins could be the first teams to sign all draft picks if there no 1's sign soon am i rite???

Good for the fins on getting him signed, but I am just not sold that Beck is the future for Miami. I guess his age has a lot to do with it and that it takes a few years to adjust to the pros and be effective at it. So that will put him close to 30. I would be a little worried about that.

Actually, it's a 3-year deal with an option for a 4th year. As the Dolphins don't release the terms of contracts, there's no way to be sure whether that's a team option or not. I'm guessing that it is.

He's definitely their future... if Green doesn't play well, he could see some starts this season as well.
