Vinny Testaverde joined the Patriots last November, but this year he'll be aboard a bit earlier. Currently a free agent, Testaverde told Sporting News Radio yesterday he has an arrangement with the Patriots to return for the 2007 season.
"After two-a-days are over [in training camp], I'll go back and sign my contract," said Testaverde, who turns 44 in November.

Amazing for a 44 year old who couldn't complete a pass it seemed when he came into the NFL with the Bucs.

Are you kidding me? I guess it's good the Pats have a... erm... EXTREMELY SEASONED vet behind Brady, but shouldn't he be retired by now?

But I guess if you think about it.... you're Vinny Testaverde and you're getting paid around a mil and a half (if I'm not mistaken... veteran's minimum salary or something like that) for a year to pitch a ball around a field, chill with Tom Brady, get sideline seats at Patriots games, and probably get a nice ring for that finger before you retire.

As much as I hate the Patriots I love Vinny. If it ever came down to it I'd root for the Patriots just so Vinny can get his ring Very Happy

i dont like vinny very much, when i see a player hang on way to long like he has, it ruins any credibility that player had to me.

Well Vinny is still young. He still has time to develop into a great quarterback in this league Wink

Vinny needs to learn to kick field goals so he can stay longer than Blanda.

Wait, Vinny is still alive? Shocked

But seriously, Vinny needs to hang it up. I was happy for him when he got the record for throwing a TD pass in each of his 20 seasons, but what else has he got to prove. He will never play unless it's a blowout, and even then Belichick would probably put in Cassel. I can only see Vinny playing to get another TD pass to break his own record again.

Well, they have an offensive line so he wouldn't be hit every other play and he would have enough time to position his walker to make a throw. But, I doubt that he makes the team when all is said and done, he is way to old to play anymore.
