With Titans defensive tackle Tony Brown bothered by a sore shoulder, rookie Jason Jones is in line to start in Saturdayís preseason game against the Rams.

I always like to see rookies go against the first unit of another team. This will be a good stepping stone for Jones and Hayes who look to have the most impact as rookies.

As a person who follows the draft, but not super close, i didnt know who Jones was. Naturally, i was a bit skeptical of this pick. But I think i have finally warmed up to this pick. I think he could be a good one, and this is one of the steps.

Its going to be very good for his devlopment and confindence. I am going to be watching him very closely. He has the quickness and intial burst to flourish next to Big AL.

he reminds me of cory williams that played for green bay, but better. i think he plays for the browns now.

I see the comparisn there. But i think Jason Jones is better because he is bigger and faster. A lot of us including myself wanted us to go after Corey williams before the Pack franchised him

Corey Williams is 6-4 315 pounds, Jason Jones is nowhere near as big as him....

Corey Williams doesn't play anywhere near his listed size though. He is a solid player, but he can't stop the run and is basically only effective as a pass rusher. I can see the comparison for now, although I hope Jones can develop into a quality run stopper as well. I will be very interested in seeing how Williams plays as a 3-4 DE, since it basically plays away from his strength (pass rushing) and into his weakness (taking up blockers/stopping the run).

I can see the comparison in playing styles for now, although I don't expect to see Jones be as effective against the pass. As I said, a lot of things can change and I hope to see Jason develop into a more complete player.

Jones has a massive reach which is something that will help tremendously in tripping up runners, and batting balls down at the line of scrimmage. I also think he is more athletically gifted than Williams.
