RAVENS GATHER GAITHER
...........A league source tell us that the Baltimore Ravens have selected former Maryland tackle Jared Gaither in round five of the supplemental draft.
No other players are expected to be selected.
I am sooooooo happy we got him welcome to Bmore Jared .......

I'm very happy right now. Gaither is definitely a gamble considering some of his issues, but his talent and upside is tremendous for a 5th round pick. A gamble well worth taking. Our offensive line is going to be scary good in a couple of years if Gaither can live up to his potential.
LT - Adam Terry
LG - Ben Grubbs
C - Chris Chester/Jason Brown
RG - Chris Chester/Jason Brown
RT - Jared Gaither
Super Sub - Marshall Yanda
That's one beast of a line. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.”

Wow, this is the best situation for both parties. He isn't polished, and it seems way too early to compare him to Ogden, but he is a similar player (as far as size and upside go). _________________ -- Kansas State University, 2013 -- |

Congrats on the pickup. For most teams I would consider him a monumental risk, but I think that he will truly benefit from learning from Jonathan Ogden. Similar size, and he should learn a lot.
You may have just gotten a heckuva deal for a 5th round pick. Congrats. _________________

Yeah, congrats guys. I see him being a better RT than LT, but no matter which side he plays on he will be a great player, once he gets his technique down. _________________

Good pickup, I'm surprised he lasted this long. I'm still kinda pissed that the Chiefs didn't bid a 4th rounder. Here is the link for it being official via NFL.com. _________________

Very nice pickup for the Ravens. They really took care of the line this offseason, something the Chiefs should look at doing.
And yes, Marshall Yanda would be a super sub B-Terp. I don't know much about Jason Brown but you think he'll be better than Yanda? _________________

Nice, this makes my fantasy selection of Willis McGahee all the more bearable. _________________ I'm a Bears fan. |
