obviously u have know idea on the Raiders history, most of the Raiders all time greats which are alot came from other teams looking for a second chance or who no one else wanted and became HOF'ers or stars, take MVP Rich Gannon for example, have some knowledge before posting uneducated garbage

Yes truly BonyMaroney you have no idea what you are talking about, I am no big Raiders fan but they do have a great past and historical positives about their team. Your answer is no, Oak Town is not the place where vets. go to die!

The Raiders already had a great secondary with Fabian Washington, Nnamdi Asomugha, Stuart Schweigert, and Michael Huff. With DD in the mix now, they'll have a veteran presence to help make the secondary even better. The Raiders are looking pretty nice on defense, but they need to start looking for a replacement for Warren Sapp.
Anybody remember Darius's hit on Robert Ferguson some years back that temporarily paralyzed him? Shocked

Starting lineup for Raiders defense:
DE: Derrick Burgess
DT: Warren Sapp
DT: Tommy Kelly or Terdell Sands
DE: Quentin Moses
OLB: Thomas Howard
MLB: Kirk Morrison
OLB: Sam Williams
CB: Nnamdi Asomugha
S (Raiders do not have a FS or SS, it is just left safety and right safety...): Michael Huff
S: Donavin Darius
CB: Fabian Washington

Killer d-line, killer LB corps, killer secondary.

If we just have a mediocre offense we should be able to make some heads turn.

Great signing... He's an incredible player and an even better person. We'll miss him in Jacksonville. Great signing by the Raiders.

Instant upgrade on defense.

Great News!!!!!!

Darius will bring leadership to the Raiders young secondary.

I think we will see Michael Huff move to FS and Darius will start at SS.

Schweigert will still play. Raiders like to use their Wolverine defense ( 4-2-5 )

Darnell Bing will gain a lot from Darius experience.

too bad you need to have a mediocre offensive line and atleast one consistent playmaker to be considered a mediocre offense...

This is a very solid signing. The only problem with Donovin Darius is that he can't stay healthy now which he shouldn't have a problem with in Oakland as he should be switching in and out with Schweigert and I am predicting a breakout year for Huff as now he will be allowed to roam free and make plays which is where he shined at UT.

I knew this was going to happen, great news.
Darius plays like the raiders of old, great fit. He will be an excellent teacher for Bing and Huff. At 31 he has at least 4-5 years left in him 2-3 playing at a high level befor winding down. I could see Schweigert and him splitting between typical pass downs and run downs.

just to clear the air I am not trying to decapitate someone just sharing some info.

The raider were someting like 8-7-1 at halftime so why would teams run out the clock for the whole second half? The raiders were in every game at the half with the exception of SD (once) and Seattle

People often times forget that we play in the toughest running ball division in the NFL, LT (twice), LJ (twice), and Denver (twice). Nobody and I mean nobody even comes remotely close to the raiders in facing running offenses.

Opponents last year ran more against us then any other team. True, but they averaged a mediocre 4 yards a carry (11th in the nfl).

Teams could run against us true with mediocre success, but that shouldn't erase the fact that when they tried to pass on us they simply couldn't and that is why we had the #1 pass defense in the league.

Don't take away from the raiders pass defense because of the simple fact that we play against the two best running backs and the best running system in football.

Yeah, just like Sapp and Burgess. Or Jerry Rice and Rod Woodson.

You Raider haters still crack me up.
