According to si.com Mathias Kiwanuka will play linebacker do to them already having two pro bowl caliber DEs. (Second challenge)
What do you guys think? He could be a solid player eventually, but he is going to need a lot of reps to have a successfull transition. _________________

He was having problems putting on weight and they need an OLB, so this was a move that had to be made. _________________

With Kiwi being so fast and being a good pass rusher he would be more suited for the 3-4 defense. _________________ Adopt-a-Ram: Brian Quick - 11 receptions, 156 yards, 2 TDs |

I was gonna say. When did Cato June play for the Giants. That was there plan all along i believe when they drafted him in the first round. They already had Stray and Osi and Justin Tuck. This is old news and most people figured he would make that move until Stray or Osi retired. |

Yeah this is somewhat old new. I have some mixed feelings on it. While they could use some help at linebacker, he played well at d end last season, and I really like what the Giants had. I think a solid rotation of defensive ends is a nice asset for a team to have. I liked how Kiwanuka was used with Umeyiora and Strahan. He's even more valuable at end considering Strahan has missed a total of 15 games over the past 3 years. Umeyiora also missed 5 games last year, so Kiwanuka has that much more value. I realize he supposedly had some issues putting on weight, but he played well last season at 260-265 pounds. So while I don't think it's a horrible move, I probably would have left him at end, as I feel he's got a lot of value for the Giants there, whether it be as a spot starter or as a rotational player for Strahan and Osi. _________________

I think they said that he is going to play LB... when they drafted a CB in the Draft. It was there "Secret Plan" and I think he actually can be successes playing LB. He is very atheletic... and he is a upgrade from guys they had at LB when offseason started. _________________
