Hey the guy above^^^
Colten Willems is not a top 3 prospect of ours the order should be
1. Chris Marrero
2. Ross Detwiler
3. Colin Ballester

A solid 8-3 homestand, we're playing good ball. Hopefully we can continue proving people wrong. _________________

Sweet, more Nationals fans are coming back to life...
anyway, I have a couple of questions:
I don't live in the DC area. I was wondering what you guys thought are the best places online to:
-get good Nationals news and articles (I currently use nationals.com)
and
-watch some more of their stuff online (i dont get it here)
thanks! _________________

We're here as the other guy said we just post in other forums. I was real surprised to actually see a Nationals thread when I came to look in the baseball forum. I guess were coming up in the world lol!!! It looked bleak for a while but Lannan provided a spark and now we're on this current streak I think 7 out of the last 9 I don't know to be exact. But things are looking much better. Hopefully with these two days off Zimmerman can break out of his funk. Plus Dukes and Young will probably be back soon to hopefully provide sparks off the bench to our bleak offense.
Looking back at it it's funny to see I said Glenn Gibson was a top 3 prospect. Here's out top 10 from BBA: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/features/265146.html
Here's our top 11 from BP:
http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=7181
Once again anyone who wants a look at the Nationals minor leaguers need look no further than: http://www.farmauthority.dcsportsnet.com/
IMO our top 3 prospects do not include Balester instead I'd take:
1. Chris Marrero
2. R. Detwiller
(Both of the above have struggled this season, Marrero just getting out of a slump and Detwiller opened up well but followed that with a number of rough outings)
3. M. Burgess/J. Zimmermann
Couldn't pick a 3rd but I'd put both above Ballester at this point. _________________ Brandon Jacobs: "The NFL needs safeties like him, the way he hits, it sets the tone. Me, myself, I'm not going to allow the tone to get set by him hitting me like that." |

Yea http://www.farmauthority.dcsportsnet.com/ is a sick website if you are interested in the Nationals minor leagues. You'll be surprised at how much info you can get from that website.
Since you are speaking of prospects I'd like to point out that Detwiler has been struggling lately. He has too many walks and has not had a quality start for a couple of games now. I think that we should give him the full year in Potomac and give him time to develop. We don't need him right now, our starting pitchers are doing pretty well (knock on wood) with 4 of them with sub 4.00 ERA.
Big week coming up. We get the Astros and the Marlins and if we go 5-1 (doable) we could be at .500 but I see 4-2 as more realistic ... _________________ Go Skins!!! |

Well, that was a terrible loss. A couple of questionable calls but at least our offense came to life and we hit 3 homers (all solo unfortunately). Let's bounce back tomorrow with Odie pitching! _________________ Go Skins!!! |

Just out of curiosity how did you become a Nationals and Red Sox fan? |

Kinda became a Nationals fan because I was a Skins fan, and they moved to the area (never really held any affliction towards the Expos). Red Sox fan because I live in MA, but now I like the Nationals more because a lot of Red Sox fans are unintelligent and bandwagoners which pisses me off.
And no one knows any sites? _________________

I personally like the Washington Times for baseball news. The Post is ok as well. Those and Nationals.com are the only ones I use. We gotta get this thread up and moving. Two pages for our squad, not enough. _________________

| Hey everyone hope we have some fans out there. I think our first order of business is to trade/cut Lo Duca. |

Agreed... we need to trade FLOP as well, he doesn't even try out there. Belliard would be a good piece at the deadline, and we could deal Guzman if its a good deal. | How about a package like this? Perez for the Rockies Chris Nelson? |
