Probably the right call, we should definitely be contenders this year, especially if we can add a guy like Greinke. _________________

Are we really going to spend that much money on another pitcher though?
God, a rotation of Stras-Gio-Greinke-Zimm-Det
We better go to the playoffs if that's the case. _________________

I hope not. For one thing, I think Grienke is unreliable. And he's going to be expensive. I'd rather earmark that money for Strasburg or Harper. |

And Desmond, et al for that matter. WE have a lot of guys who are going to want decent contracts _________________

I want to see Desmond repeat last year before giving him an extension. I want to see if it was a fluke or not. |

Larry Leadoff.
So, now we desperately need pitching depth out of the pen _________________

The more I think of it the more I like it, you figure we got a 4 WAR CFer, can move Bryce to left where he can continue to bulk up and gain power, and then Morse to first to replace Laroche. We save probably damn near 8 million in the whole exchange which can go towards our chest to sign a lefty bullpen arm and a back of the rotation starter. This was a good move. _________________

While I agree, I am not a huge fan of Morse at 1st. We had so much success because we got a steady and relatively reliable Lefty in LaRoche who could hit pretty well against Left or Right. Will Morse be anywhere near as reliable?
And defensively he's not as talented. Although, i suppose we are just warming the spot for one of our young infield players or the potential Zim switch _________________

In an ideal world even as this year progresses on Tyler Moore would take over an increasing role at first and hopefully prove to be a good starter that can save us even more money so we can splurge on extensions for Znn, Stras, and Bryce. _________________
