I dont post a lot anymore because I always have log in problems from my home computer. Only for this forum as well, like i am in a thread and I want to post something so i press log in and fill out the info and nothing happens. It just either stays at the log in screen or goes to the index, and I am still not logged in. _________________ [quote="Derek Jeter"]

| I feel like I may be one of the only one's NOT having this issue, but I did have this problem on another site a year or 2 ago, still havent figured out how to fix it, although I dont go to the site much anymore anyway. So I am curious as to what the remedy will be. |

I'm sorry that some of you are still having problems. Let me try to explain this again.
The reason for the log in problems is due to an error in your web cookies on Internet Explorer. Basically a cookie is a small file that saves information for use on websites. In our case it stores your username. If the cookie isn't working correctly, then the forum software can't read your username all the time and you have log in problems.
To fix this problem follow these steps.
1. Delete browser cookies
2. Close browser
3. Reboot computer
4. open browser
5. login to FF
If it didn't work the first time, try it again. Follw the exact order.
More details below if you don't know how to delete your browser cookies.
To delete all of the cookies on Internet Explorer:
1. Select the 'Tools' menu
2. Click 'Internet Options'
3. Click 'Delete' under 'Browsing History'
4. Click 'Delete cookies'.
To delete your cookies on Firefox:
1. Select the 'Tools' menu
2. Click 'Clear Private Data'
3. Check the box labeled 'Cookies'
4. Click 'Clear Private Data Now'
Finally, make sure you reboot your computer after deleting the cookies and it might take a couple of log ins for the cookies to set again.

Good info Webby, I just had this problem and I clicked the link on the login page that took me here, and it was solved in seconds (though I had to figure out the equivalent method for deleting cookies in firefox). _________________

| A lot of people seem to be having login problems today. This is probably related to the changes we made yesterday. Long term the changes made yesterday should make the login process more stable. However, short term many members will need to delete their cookies, reboot their computer, and log back in. See my previous post in this topic for details. |

I'm using Firefox so I can't speak for IE users, but deleting the cookie and then closing and re-opening Firefox was enough. No reboot required. _________________

I tried this and no luck in firefox. Any other suggestions or is it best to just wait until all the changes are made? |

Are you sure you deleted cookies? Did you reboot after deleting and then log back in?
