Question: Ed, if Tony Hunt is not available in the second round, do you think the Steelers would be interested in Brian Leonard out of Rutgers? He is a "typical" Steeler with his work ethic and overall attitude toward putting the team first. He would be a good fit because I believe he could provide depth at FB and at RB. He also could block on 3rd downs - something that Willie Parker struggled with last year!

Aaron Burket, Claysburg, Pa.

BOUCHETTE: Yes, I do think they are interested in Leonard. I have him listed as a fullback, but he can do it all -- block, catch, run. He'd be a perfect third-down back for the Steelers, who need one unless Verron Haynes fully recovers. He also could become the heir apparent to Dan Kreider, 30, at fullback, a job that I see evolving into something more under the new regime. The Steelers will draft a running back somewhere and I have had more inquiries about Leonard than any of them

For those of you who dont know who Ed Bouchette is, he is the beat writer for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette who covers the Steelers. Granted it is his opinions, but he works as closely with the Steelers front office and coaching staff as anyone in the media.

Ed [inappropriate/removed] said "he thinks" not that we actually are.

Leonard will own with this steelers.. He and Parker will be like Ray Rice
and Leonard last year..
His stats: http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/fb/brianleonard.html

Rushing attempts:93 Rushing yards:423 Rushing average:4.5 Rushing TD'S:5 Receptions:38 Receiving yards:294 Rec. Td's0

Ray Rice's stats link:
http://www.rayrice27.com/ray_rice_stats.htm

Attempts: 335 Rushing yards:1794 Rushing Average:5.4 Rushing Tds:20 Receptions:4 Receiving yards:30 Receiving average7.5 Rec. Td's0

Michael Turner
Rushing Attempts:80 Rushing Yards:502 Rushing Average:6.3 3 Receptions for 47 yards

L.T.
Rushing Attempts:348 Rushing Yards:1815 Rushing Average:5.2 Rushing Td's:28 Receptions: 56 for 508 yards!

Now i'm not saying Willie Parker and Leonard will be L.T. and Turner or even Ray and Leonard.. But I think Leonard and Parker could do something like what those two groups did.. Leonard could run every 1/3 or something.. Willie could end up with around 1,500 and Leonard 500... I think that would be Ideal...
Leonard would be a change of pace and we probaly would find some trick plays to do with him...

Leonard Highschool

Goaline

Personally i'd take em in the second round..

I wouldn't touch Leonard with a 10 foot pole.

The Great White Nope.

And yet again, you're breaking the forum rules. No race comments, period.

Where did you see that at? If you read the rules, ANY comments on race are not allowed, whether it's in a positive or negative manner. At least calling him a hope rather than a nope isn't as offensive. Just because you obviously have a problem with white people doesn't make this forum a place for you to voice that "opinion".
