Is it a crazy idea for troy to play OLB?

He'll get bulldozed by OT's, unless he bulks up and puts on some pounds, which would then most likely compensate some speed. If he tries to run around the OT them the whole time and not take them head on, then all the QB has to do is step up in the pocket. If the pocket collapses, then Troy will present a problem.

As for dropping back in coverage from the OLB, I think the majority agrees that is his main weakness. So all in all he's a better fit at safety. He also provides a great last line of defense as he is able to run down the ballcarrier or receiver once the breach the front 7 or one of the db's get burnt in coverage.

I say just keep using him like we are. Allow him to step up in the box and either blitz or show blitz. Let the d-line and the bigger linebackers take on the o-line and let Troy hawk down the ballcarrier from his safety spot.

agreed, why take a pro-bowl player and force him to change his position to make room for a rookie? If Landry somehow did manage to fall to the Steelers I'd imagine Colbert would be receiving some very good trade offers for the slot...The only reason to draft Landry would be if it was a certainty that Troy cannot be resigned, which it isn't.

I'd like to see the Steelers draft to strengthen a weakness, not draft to possibly weaken a strength.

They are not going to draft landry"NOW HERE THIS THE CARDINALS FO DOES NOT USE ANY BRAIN DECREASING DRUGS" Alan faneca isnt not worth the #5 pick it isnt fair value and landry may not make it past the vikings and definitely not past the falcons or dolphins or texans. And they arent letting troy go anywhere he will be resigned troy doesnt need to cover not his job his job is to be disruptive which when hes healthy he does well. they arent looking to replace him faneca yes he will be replaced troy no.

Jamal Lewis seems to be a real uphill runner now. That's a problem. Downhill runners are preferred. Maybe he is running in the wrong direction. Espn DJ Gallo
