2001 - Reynolds - BUST
2002 - Walker - good pick
2003 - Barnett - good pick
2004 - Carroll - boom or bust player, leaning towards bust
2005 - ????????
I am still sticking by my gut instinct that Green Bay is going to land Thomas Davis. I just don't see New Orleans taking him at 16. The only other teams I'd worry about grabbing him would be Seattle or St. Louis.
If Davis goes, at least I hope it is early so I don't have to watch. I can't bear to witness another reach in the first round. I guess as long as we don't select a QB, I'll be ok. On the other hand, can you imagine how pissed-off Green Bay fans will be if they do select a QB???? |

I hope we get Davis, but I don't see it happening without moving up. I hope we get Marlin Jackson if we can't get TD _________________ BRETT FAVRE's HEIR APPARENT: Adrian McPherson oh wait it's the SOD: #12 Aaron Rodgers |

I would not say leaning towards bust because he should not have played last year.
I hope we land Travis Johnson, Channing Crowder, Thomas Davis, Marcus Spears, DeMarcus Ware, Shaun Cody, Dan Cody, Brodney Pool, Marlin Jackson, David Pollack I think any of them would be a good pick for us. _________________

There are a couple I think we could land:
Channing Crowder
Thomas Davis
David Pollack
DeMarcus Ware
Those are the players everyone thinks we will take, and they very well could be. But there are three other players we could take that might surprise some people. I would not want to see one of them (Frye), but I wouldn't mind the other two.

I don't like the Cody's either and I sure as heckfire don't like Crowder for our number 1, or Matt Roth.
My top three would be:
-Thomas Davis
-DeMarcus Ware
-David Pollack
Thomas Davis is my favorite defender of the entire draft, period. The other two are my favorites based on the possibility they'll fall to us.
I think one thing we should keep in mind while watching the draft unfold is it will be great news if the top 3 QB's are selected before we make our selection. This is possible, and it leaves the all-important defenders on the board.
Also, we have to stay away from the boom or bust players like Travis Johnson. One thing is for certain with Green Bay Packer drafts; they always surprise us. I have yet to find any person or analyst that can accurately predict who we'll take. Granted, the last 13 years we've been at the bottom of the draft board making it much more difficult to predict.
I swear if we land Thomas Davis, I'm driving to Green Bay to hump Ted Thompson's leg!!!
Can anyone guess what I'll be praying for tonite??? |

My final top 3 choices for the 1st round are:
1. Thomas Davis S/OLB
2. Marlin Jackson CB/S
3. Odell Thurman LB
If they are all taken, try to trade down to the bottom of the 1st ot top of the 2nd.
Go Packers!!!! |

Best is up for debate, but even if he IS the best, none of us want HIM to be the guy "teaching" the next guy. Gunslingers are born, not taught. (you think somebody taught Brett to think "just throw it hard and the LB won't be able to jump that pattern!")
Davis is gone at 16
Ware, Pollack, or trade down and get
Burnett, Rudd, or even Thurman |
