Dang, that's steep. I would hate not to have a 2nd rounder. But I guess if they see someone that they think is worth it, then they should go for it.

If that were to happen, we would move up five spots in the first round while losing a second round pick but picking up an additional third round pick.

It's not that bad.

Unless there's a player involved nothing is going to happen until draft day.

In fact, they'll wait until Houston is on the clock before they do anything.

Regardless, it's most likely BS at this point in time.

If it comes to fruition it is a much better idea than moving down. Can't see them doing it for Willis. Gotta be Anderson or Okoye IMO.

Thats just numbers from NFl draft value chart. I also heard the rumor discussed on Fox Sports Radio

Rumor is coming from "NFl insiders" not callers or posters

Hmm... moving up in the first and giving up a second, but picking up an extra third...sounds familiar. Pretty much the outcome of last year's dealing, right?

Actually, we traded #32 overall, #96 overall, and #129 overall to move up to #25 overall last year.

According to the trade value chart, we gave up 749 points to get a pick worth 720 points.

Then the Steelers traded #64 to the Vikes for #s 83 and 95. That's 270 given up, 295 in return. Total value: -4. Close enough.

Forgot about that trade. So, we didn't do that bad.

I agree on all counts, Treat.

Probably somewhere in the are of a third and a fourth. But, no one truly know the negotiations if they really are going on.

I think it would be a good trade Willis could be the centre piece for a cover 2 system...

It could allow Tomlin to build his team around him, like the Bears did with Urlacher.........

But i still think CB or DE is the need if the Steelers stay at 15...

Thing is there is always good undersized LBs later in the draft , which creates real value for cover 2 teams as they can bank up later on...

However Willis could be that super elite player u have to draft after a bad season....

If we traded this year's first and next years second we could get up to pick #7 (Vikings).

http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft/draftvaluechart.asp

I don't see a pre-draft trade happening just to move up, but during makes a lot of sense. And with the Bears - Redskins trade pending (I think they are looking at taking A. Branch), Gaines Adams could be available @ #7 --don't forget Tomlin's relationship with the Vikes.

1.1 -Jamarcus Russell
1.2 -Brady Quinn
1.3 -Adrian Peterson
1.4 -Calvin Johson
1.5 -Joe Thomas
1.6 -Alan Branch
1.7 -Gaines Adams (Steelers trade to the Vikings)

This is BEST case scenario! No one can argue it. Very Happy
