There is only a very small drop-off from Ben Roethlisberger to Batch when it comes to on-field production.

If it is such a small difference...why didnt we play him when Big Ben sucked all of last year, this kinda upsets me again after I finally got over it. I love Big Ben but Batch deserved to play last year!

No one is trying to bash Ben here... calm down.

And who would you consider the best back-up??? Garrard? Brad Johnson? Brian Griese? Kurt Warner????

I see no reason why Charlie Batch can not be considered the best back-up in the NFL

Exactly I am not smashing Ben...he is our starter...but you have to admit, we should played Batch a lot more last year. Ben wasnt doing anything for us

WHO CARES?????

Seriously last year is over, give it a rest. Mistakes were made with personel everyone knows that. Just let it be, talking/arguing about it now is pointless.

SO? Garrard, Warner, Griese... they have all been injured too... what is your point?

I really like Batch...He tends to get injured.

That was my point.

BTW...

I would take Batch over Garrard, Warner, Griese, Harrington, or Sorgi.

I would take Batch over just about every backup and over some starters.

Guy settle, I was just showing you that batch was said to be the best qb backup. Thats a good thing. No one should be bashing Batch, Ben, anyone. The post was just informing us on how good Batch is Wink

wow... absolutely terrible comparison. Boller wins the arm strength battle, and thats about it.

Batch has way more field awareness, and a lot more accuracy.

We already know Ben is better. He was also beatne to hell and not playing his best. We're not suggesting he starts, just that other than Matt Schaub, Batch is likely the best person to have as a backup (both skill-wise, and situation-wise).

I agree. I think a 3250 yd, 20-22 td, 10-12 int season is well within reach.
