In other news, safety Tyrone Carter, who played for the Steelers the last three seasons, has signed a free-agent contract with the Bears, according to ESPN.com's John Clayton. It's a three-year deal worth $2.4 million, including a $280,000 signing bonus.

Sad to seem him go, because I like his intensity. Good luck T. Carter!!

Kid had tons of talent.

His size hindered him.

Really didn't see that coming. He was a pretty good contributor on passing downs. This probably means we'll be looking at a SS in the middle to late rounds of the draft unless we re-sign Logan (which I doubt).

Not a huge loss, but he was solid.

That means we got Smith, Clark and Troy at S for now. Not sure if we'll resign Logan.

Might take a look at a SS type in the 5th-7th rounds.

I'd say we just lost two of our most emotional leaders. Tyrone Carter and Joey Porter were our two most emotional leaders on the team in my opinion. I actually liked Carter a little more than Porter. Just mainly because of his intensity he brought to the field.

I know there are some mixed feelings about him, but I know Larry Foote will keep everyone pumped on defense and keep the trash-talking alive.

I remember reading a huge ESPN.com article on Porter's trash-talking and it had alot about how Foote and porter were always together in thier intimidation tactics. We're going to be intense reagrless, but I know others on the defense can be close to as intense as joey porter was.

Even harrison, he's like one enormous muscle and he enjoys bodyslamming people, Im sure he's decently vocal, or will be in a starting role.

Ill see if I can find the article anyways

Quote:
BEARS HAVEN'T SIGNED CARTER

In an item posted earlier on Sunday night, ESPN.com reported that the Bears had signed former Steelers safety Tyrone Carter to a three-year deal.

But the folks in Bristol have since pulled a Tribune-Review, expunging from the story any reference to Carter.

A league source tells us that the Bears have not signed Carter, and that nothing is imminent.

ESPN has crap information and I think they are struggling (i.e. jumping the gun) with the NFL Network and NFL Radio being a new major media source for football.
