F.A.C.T.

1. Charles Grant does not want to be in New Orleans anymore.

2. Charles Grant will not be with the Saints in 2008.

3. If Charles Grant leaves in free agency next season the Saints will get zero for him.

4. Charles Grant is not worth two first round picks (let alone one in the top 5).

5. Charles Grant is not one of Sean Peyton's favorites, (just go back to training camp in Jackson).

6. If the Saints are reaosnable here they can get three future starters in return for a player that will only play for then for one year if they keep him.

7. Even if the Saints and Charles Grant were on good terms it still would'ent work because New Orleans will not be able to pay both Grant and Will Smith large contracts. (Smith will be looking for a long term deal starting next season)

8. Contrary to belief, Charles Grant is NOT the best player on the Saints defense.

9. Charles Grant will likley end up playing in Tampa Bay anyway.

10. Charles Grant will be a distraction in this upcomming season if he is not delt.

Having stated all these facts (and you know they are) it just makes since to part ways with him now and gain from it. Now, you can forget the 4th overall pick it's not gonna happen but something more along the line of Tampa's 36th overall this year and WR Michael Clayton along with there future second round pick in 2008 is a reasonable and fair market value. If you don't think so, isn't it better than getting nothing in 2008 and still seeing Grant playing for the Bucs.

Think about it.

I was thinking 2nd this year & 1st next year, but that works to.
