We will win this probably by 10, maybe 9 wickets but we haven't dominated the entire match. Just had great sessions that took the game away. |
This is a pretty poor side. _________________

Yeah they haven't been that bad. There was a time at the end of the first test when we were about 50-4 after Pietersen had just got out and chasing 191. I thought we might lose it but Bell and Cook put that brilliant partnership together.
West Indies can bowl but their batting is really weak. They only really have Chanderpaul, even Sammy's ton was his first ever I think. Their top four have been really poor. |

Samuels has batted very well over the last 12 months, Chanders is great as well. If they had a stronger top 4 this would be a very competitive series, Chris Gayle/Sarwan would be an big boost to them. _________________

He is quite a talented lower order batsmen, and to be fair Broad has a hundred in tests (Harbhajan Singh does as well!) so it can happen with talented but technically flawed lower order players. _________________

Broad at least is fairly consistent.
Sammy was pretty reckless. _________________

Yeah if Sammy concentrates he would be a better batsmen. He shouldn't be captain though. If you made someone else captain, and had Jerome Taylor that attack would be alot better. _________________

They have talent.
Just not a lot of brains right now it seems.
Although at least its more exciting than a team of 11 Chanderpauls. _________________

I have growen up watching him. Was about 10 when he started out. Going to be sad when he is finally done. Truly amazing player. Also seems like a great person to. |
I don't think Tendulkars 15k runs in test cricket will ever be broken. |
Cook has a decent shot at breaking it, assuming he becomes captain and stays in the team for another 5-10 years..! |

There are two tiers of International Test cricket for me......
South Africa
India
England
Australia
New Zealand
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
West Indies
Ofcourse on the sub continent the home advantage is incredible _________________ Officially endorsed by Jon Dorenbos

That is a serious ask.
Tendulkar is on 15,470
Cook is on 6,356
Tendulkar averages 55.44
Cook averages 48.89
The top 10 run scores all have averages over 50.
Cook will seriously have to go some. _________________

By the time Tendulkar was Cook's age he had played 125 innings over 79 tests, scoring 6416 runs @ 57.2
Cook at the moment has played 139 innings over 79 tests, scoring 6356 runs @ 48.9
So average aside, he is on pace just about with age v runs. Now consider that Cook averages 11.2 tests a year vs 7.8 per year for Tendulkar, it stacks up slightly in Cook's favour in my opinion. |

I'd argue Sri Lanka should possibly be in that upper tier. India as much as I try to root for them, suck complete balls outside of the subcontinent, at least lately. The test series in England was the single worst test series loss I've ever seen and the one in Australia was pretty bad too. _________________

Except Cook would have to play until he is 38 or 39. _________________

I feel Sri Lanka are just the same as India, but do not compete at all well anywhere else. India have shown they can play in Australia and South Africa somewhat....
They just sucked in English conditions _________________ Officially endorsed by Jon Dorenbos
