DRAFT

First Round:

1. Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
NFL Comparison: Daunte Cullpepper
Analysis: A big quarterback at 6’6’’ 260lb. would have a immediate impact on the raider’s offense, and would restore the vertical passing game that Al Davis loves so much.

2. Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
NFL Comparison: Walter Jones
Analysis: The Lions have plenty of needs to fill but none are bigger then the o-line, and their getting one of the best in Joe Thomas.

3. Minnesota Vikings: Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
NFL Comparison: Randy Moss
Analysis probably will have one of the biggest impacts on a team, no doubt the best player in the draft, and will become the leading receiver in the NFL.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
NFL Comparison: Simeon Rice
Analysis: The Buccaneers are a defensive minded team and will most likely look to pick Gaines Adams to replace the aging Simeon Rice, if they lose the coin toss.

5. Arizona Cardinals: Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
NFL Comparison: Julius Peppers
Analysis: A quick end, who could contribute immediately, and help out a defense that’s not getting much better.

6. Washington Redskins: Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
NFL Comparison: Marcus Stroud
Analysis: The redskins need to work on their defense, if they plan on being a playoff contender, and there is no better way but to pick one of the best defensive players in the draft.

7. Cleveland Browns: Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
NFL Comparison: Frank Gore
Analysis: A big back with power and brake away speed, will become the brown’s number one guy.

8. Houston Texans: Laron Landry, S, LSU
NFL Comparison: Brian Dawkins
Analysis: There’s no way to get around it, the Texans plain and simple don’t have a good defense, adding Laron Landry would give their opponents something to be scared about.

9. Miami Dolphins: Brady Quinn, QB, ND
NFL Comparison: Carson Palmer
Analysis: The Dolphins have invested a lot of money in Daunte Cullpepper and Joey Harrington, but how could they pass on a future franchise quarterback.

10. Atlanta Falcons: Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
NFL Comparison: Ed reed
Analysis: a good tackler and cover safety who is underrated and good enough to come in and start right away. Could help out with one of the league’s up and coming secondary.

11. San Francisco 49ers: Adam Carriker
NFL Comparison: Shaun Ellis
Analysis: A big strong DE who can play in either a 3-4 or a 4-3, and still be affective.

12. Buffalo Bills: Patrick Willis,LB, Ole Miss.
NFL Comparison: D.J. Williams
Analysis: A shifty linebacker who could help buffalo become a playoff contender, and restore the old run stopping defense they used to be

13. St. Louis Rams: Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
NFL Comparison: Tommie Harris
Analysis: In my opinion the Rams were one of the top 5 NFC teams, and with their premier running game and lethal passing attack. Adding one of the best DT will make for a complete team.

14. Carolina Panthers: Lawrence Timmons, LB, FSU
NFL Comparison: Marcus Washington
Analysis: A good well rounded player who could step in and start right away.

15. Pittsburg Steelers: Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
NFL Comparison: Jordan Gross
Analysis: The Steelers need a big strong linemen who can keep their running game going, and with Levi Brown's draft status sky rocketing after the Senior Bowl, they get a steal at 15.

16. Green Bay Packers: Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal
NFL Comparison: Tiki Barber
Analysis: Green Bay needs to restore their running game in order to have a successful passing attack, and Marshawn is a proven runner.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
NFL Comparison: Reggie Wayne
Analysis: The last thing they need is another slow WR, but Dwayne Jarrett has the body to become a faster WR, who has great hands.

18. Cincinnati Bengals: Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
NFL Comparison: Asante Samuel
Analysis: In my opinion, Leon Hall is the best cornerback in the draft, and after the combine he should clear up a lot of the questions about his speed.

19. Tennessee Titans: Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State
NFL Comparison: Mark Clayton
Analysis: The Titans need a fast reciever that can spread the field out
and be a deep threat and Ginn is probaly the best WR at doing this. Having Ted Ginn Jr. would help to open up other targets for the Titans on the field

20. New York Giants: Darrelle Revis, CB, Pitt
NFL Comparison: Chris Mcalister
Analysis: A big physical CB who can either drop back in coverage or come up and play the run better then any corner in this draft.

21. Denver Broncos: Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia
NFL Comparison: Terrell Suggs
Analysis: With the loss of Trevor Pryce last year the broncos Defensive line hasn’t been the same and now is the time to help upgrade that with a young Charles Johnson.

22. New England Patriots: Michael Griffin, S, Texas
NFL Comparison: Darren Sharper
Analysis: Rodney Harrison is getting old and the patriots could use a safety that’s young that they could groom into a starter.

23. Dallas Cowboys: Justin Blalock, OG, Texas
NFL Comparison: Shawn Andrews
Analysis:The cowboys could use a big lineman who is versatile, and could play anywhere on the line.

24. Kansas City Chiefs: Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
NFL Comparison: Roy Williams
Analysis: the chiefs need some they can put out wide and spread the field with and that’s exactly what they get out of Sidney Rice, great fit.

25. New York Jets: Lamar Woodley, DE/LB, Michigan
NFL Comparison: Shawn Merrimen
Analysis: Pick would add depth to an already good defense, and would give the Jets a player to experiment with, who could play in any package.

26. Philadelphia Eagles: Brandon Merriweather, S, Miami (FL.)
NFL Comparison: Darren Sharper
Analysis: With the big disappointment out of Michael Lewis Griffin could jump right in and make an immediate impact.

27. New Orleans Saints: Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
NFL Comparison: Deangelo Hall
Analysis: Would help out right away with a secondary that is really falling behind.

28. New England Patriots: Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
NFL Comparison: Jevon Walker
Analysis: A good size reciever who has good hands, and the speed to be a deep threat down the field.

29. Baltimore Ravens: Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida
NFL Comparison: Alex Brown
Analysis: The Ravens couldn’t pass up on such a talented player like Jarvis Moss, who has the potential to be a great player.

30. San Diego Chargers: Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
NFL Comparison: Chris Chambers
Analysis: The chargers desperately need a receiver who can catch besides Antonio Gates, so the pick up Sidney Rice here who has good hands and the ability to go up and snatch the ball out of the air.

31. Chicago Bears: Arron Sears, OG, Tennessee
NFL Comparison: Eric Steinbach
Analysis: The Bears need a lineman who can step in and help protect Rex and help Thomas Jones run the ball and Arron Sears can do just that.

32. Indianapolis Colts: Paul Pozluszny, LB, Penn State
NFL Comparison: Clark Haggans
Analysis: The colts need someone who is physical and can stop the run and Buster Davis was born to do just that.

Round 2:

33. Oakland Raiders: Joe Staley, OT

34. Baltimore Ravens: Ben Grubbs, OG

35. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Chris Houston, CB

36. Cleveland Browns: Josh Beekman, OG/OT

37. Arizona Cardinals: Eric Weddle, S

38. New York Jets: Michael Bush, RB

39. Clevland Browns: Demarcus Tyler, DT

40. Atlanta Falcons: Ryan Kalil, USC

41. Miami Dolphins: Marshal Yanda, OT

42. Atlanta Falcons: Quentin Moses, DE

43. San Fransisco 49ers: Anthony Spencer, DE

44. Buffalo Bills: Anthony Gonzalez, WR

45. St. Louis Rams: H.B. Blades, LB

46. Carolina Panther: Quinn Pitcock, DT

47. Pittsburg Steelers: Rufus Alexander, OLB

48. Green Bay Packers: Zack Miller, TE

49. Jacksonville Jaguars: Aaron Rouse, S

50. Cincinnati Bengals: Victor Abiamiri, DE

51. Tennessee Titans: Buster Davis, ILB

52. San Diego Chargers: Manuel Ramirez, OG

53. Denver Broncos: Kyle Young, C

54. Seattle Seahawks: Doug Fee, OT
Face it, Walter Jones is getting up there

55. Dallas Cowboys: Ryan Harris, OT

56. Kansas City Chiefs: Tim Duckworth, OG

57. New York Jets: Brian Leonard, FB

58. Philadelphia Eagles: Earl Everett, LB

59. New Orleans Saints: Greg Olsen, TE

60. New England Patriots: Marcus McCualey, CB

61. Baltimore Ravens: Jon Beason, LB

62. San Diego Chargers: Michael Johnson, S

63. Chicago Bears: Brandon Siler, LB
If they lose briggs this is a good pick.

64. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brandon Membane, DT

The pictures for Revis and Ginn need to be switched.

Dwayne Bowe is nothing like Chris Chambers. Actually, I think Chambers would be a better comparison for Ginn and Javon Walker would be better for Bowe.

Nice job putting all of this together, though. Good job on the Packers' needs for 2007.

I like how you did the 2008 draft, but judging on the Browns now, there is NO way they would take a safety and an ILB. Sean Jones as a top 5 safety last year, and Brodney Pool can easily take over for Brian Russell if he leaves.

Andra Davis is still only 28 and D'Qwell Jackson had a good rookie year.

Good Browns draft in 07.

I really like those Browns picks, but I also don't think that the Browns take a safety in 2008 especially that early.

Drew Bennett needs to move on, especially if we draft Ted Ginn.

Besides that I like it, great picks in 2008 and I love the 29th overall spot.

Browns dont take a safety. Brodney Pool and Sean Jones will be good in the future. GOod 2007 for them though.

Umm...the Chiefs have the 23rd pick, not the 24th. As for the Chiefs' draft grade, I'll give it a D. You hit the needs, but there were better players on the board at both picks. Expect them to go DT in one of the first 2 rounds (probably the 1st, unless a Brown or Staley falls), and possibly a WR or LB in the 2nd.

I love the GB drafts but I would just switch 2008s 1st rounder to Manningham.
