| what if each major conference had one team go undefeated this year? Say USC, Michigan, Miami, LSU, Texas, etc., etc. (replace your conferences team with your favorite if you like.) who gets to play for the national championship? i know it's not likely at all. but it is possible. if all teams were equally impressive and the usa today and ap polls were flip flopped. the bcs would have to screw some teams. who would get to play. my bets would be on USC and someone other than the SEC team. the media loves the PAC 10 and USC. they hate the SEC. it would be nice to see them be torn between texas, miami, and michigan though. who would they choose? what would happen? |

Doubt it. It would be the two with the best list of opponents over the course of the season. Unlike in the AP and Coaches polls, people can move up or down in the BCS without anyone losing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone in recently lost their spot in a BCS game without losing a game late in the season. I'm thinking that happened to Cal last year, but can't say that with any certainty at all. _________________

I think if Georgia Tech goes undefeated they will be the top team in the nation according to the BCS if they factor in schedule strength:
@ Auburn
vs. North Carolina
vs. Connecticut
@ Virginia Tech
vs. North Carolina State
@ Duke
@ Miami
vs. Clemson
vs. Wake Forest
@ Virginia
vs. Georgia
Every team is from a major conference and is actually pretty good in their conference too. Auburn, Georgia and Connecticut will all be better this year than people expect. _________________
