Well then JaMarcus Russell has been consensus #1 QB virtually 1 year, since 0 years is virtually 1 year. _________________

Well i mean its not crazy hard to believe that johnson could break it, they have buffalo, st. Louis and Seattle still left on the schedule and a rematch against houston.. those are all favorable match ups... i dont see it this year but i could see him doing it at some point in his career
As my for my top 3
1.) Peterson (97)
2.) Johnson (96)
3.) Jackson (95) _________________

For those who don't know I just gave three seperate post, in the other comparison thread, using actual stats from NFL.com depicting why Johnson was nowhere near them. Again, the only top 10 D he played against was the Steelers, who crushed him. In comparison to Jackson's four with no QB help, no spell, and no D. And yes I gave numbers to show why Johnson's surronding talent was also better. Kerry Collins included.
I also gave statistic showing why he did nothing in his other six games, the exceptions being the Jaguars and Texans who are both in the 20s in rush D. As well as figures for why you can't count the Jets D, which is 14, as a big win. Add that to the fact that he only had 30 rushing yards against the the Pats starters and I think we can call it a rest.
AD and S-Jax>>>>>>Johnson.
Numbers don't lie sons. |
that's why he has more yards than both
no you didn't, I showed that excluding his 4 big runs he has a 4.7 ypc average. Peterson has a 4.4 ypc without his big run. Explain that. PLEASE. I'll wait _________________ MguitoGMEN wrote:

I'm not taking anything away from Steven Jackson..but prior to the season, almost everybody at DeAngelo Williams over Steven Jackson. What happened?
They basically have the same amount of production. The exact same YPC, and Jackson only has more yards since he hasn't hit his bye yet and DeAngelo has. I'm not saying Jackson isn't better, but it seems like everybody has changed their list completely around just because other people have. _________________

Well wasn't last season Williams breakout season? I think you can say people might have jumped the gun on him. Johnson had a good season last year also, and is having an even better season this year. I think it might be more appropriate in Johnson's case _________________ MguitoGMEN wrote:

Chris Johnson is underrated while Peterson is the most overrated RB in the league. I would take Chris Johnson all day everyday while Peterson is a huge product of the most expensive offensive line in the league while Chris Johnson plays on a team where he is facing 8 man fronts all the time and he is the only weapon the Titans have and he still puts up monster numbers. _________________ I BLEED BLACK AND PURPLE!!

That still doesn't explain how Steven Jackson is suddenly that much better than DeAngelo Williams when almost everybody had D-Willy ranked above him before the season started and they have almost identical production.
And Johnson's season has been overrated. He's had 3 big games this season (big as in 100 yard games), 2 of which have came against two bad run defenses in HOU and JAX. Actually, in his whole career, the Patriots game may be the only 100 yard game that was really any good. You can't discredit a player for putting up huge games against bad defenses, which I hope Titan fans don't think I'm doing (I'm a fan of CJ), but people looking at stats to say who the best RB has been this season are usually wrong. _________________

Ok, in that case Adrian Peterson has only had 2 big games. He also has a HOF QB at the helm, and the Vikings don't switch running backs at the goal line. Hence more touchdowns.
That statement is absolutely RIDICULOUS. Yeah, breaking off two huge 80 yard isn't any good. Seriously THINK about what you said. That is utterly ridiculous.
Why do people think they should exclude the big runs? It's what he does. You guys are PENALIZING him for being incredibly fast. I don't get it at all. Some of you people make no sense _________________ MguitoGMEN wrote:

Ya but have you seen the rush defenses AP has played in 8 games ? ? ?
the Steelers, 49ers, Ravens, Packers twice and yet he is still 2nd in the league in rushing yards _________________

Jamal Lewis that year nearly broke the NFL single season rushing record that year.
I dont see what counter point you were trying to make there _________________

At that time Jamal Lewis had a chance at being one of the best ever.Unfortunately, he never got back to that "status"
even then, are you trying to downplay a record that was held before that by some of the greatest backs? Jamal Lewis that year nearly broke a record by Dickerson, does that mean you can downplay him still?
What is so overrated about AD? He's extremely fast, strong, picks up blitzes, finds the holes in the defense, can take 3-4 hits before going down, has incredible hands...
What more do you want? I fail to see what's so overrated about him _________________
