Feel like Im gonna puke. We should have one. Two times we could have effectively ended it. The first was Rucker's dropped pick and the other was when Caper was wide open and Cousins effed up.
At least Hoyer was clutch. Hopefully Kirk can improve on his clutch throwing. _________________

Good game guys. You're always a tough opponent and looked good against us again. We were actually pretty lucky to win that game with all the miscues we had (such as the safety allowing Caper to be wide open in the endzone). Good luck the rest of the year. _________________

Don't forget the blocked extra point which would have made it so we only needed a FG to win. Notre Dame was giving us a win on a silver platter and we just gave it right back to them. That is the worst part about this loss.
The positives out of this game was Cousins did look very good until the last two plays, my thought it that as he matures and gets experience he won't miss that TD throw and he won't make that last throw. Also, the running game looked to be doing well and I'm hoping the offense can only improve from here on out.
The negatives of course was that our defense was just awful. Let Clausen throw all over us and let there RB run all over us. It was pitiful to watch the defense out there.
Very important game next week, we can still savage our Big Ten season with a few key wins including next week. _________________

Didn't expect you guys to start out this roughly you can easily be sitting at 3-1 right now. Just looking for some insight on how you guys will bounce back and hopefully make a bowl game.
6-6 record right now looks very far away. _________________ NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAYS. |

I think it'll be a close game tomorrow and would not be shocked if State picked up a W. _________________

I cant beleive nobody commented in this thread on game day!
Man, I tell you what that game was scary. Bad coaching decisions let Michigan back in and then Amazin Tate Forcier led them back with one amazing drive (the other drive wasnt amazing #22 was wide open and then the State defense took laughable routes to try and get him). Chris L. Rucker and Larry Caper deserve a steak dinner from the entire coaching staff tonight, because they bailed them out.
Fun fact, first time MSU has beaten Michigan in consecutive games since the mid 60s. Talk about bitter sweet. _________________

Very true Very true, I was thinking here comes Central Michigan all over again. Just some thoughts I had from the game are, Where was Caulton Ray at? I didn't see him get one snap, is he injured or something or is he just not cutting it?
Also It's looking like Glenn Wintston is now the feature back which I can handle because that kid can move. Did anyone notice on the play where he jumped a Michigan player, he gave the nastiest stiff arm to the head of a Michigan defender?
I'm real excited about Kirk Cousins and his future, he had an amazing game ('m taking away the Interceptions because both those were caused by his arm getting smacked by a Michigan player.) _________________

The coaching in the 4th quarter was laughable. The play calls were so predictable, everytime they lined up with three Wr on one side they would run the fake bubble screen pitch. Every time they were in the i-formation they ran, every time they had WR on both sides of the ball they threw the ball. If Michigan wasn't so bad defensively MSU would have easily lost this game. As for the defense, why play a prevent weak zone with 5 minutes to go. All game long they would leave a WR alone on the sidelines about 5 yards out, finally in the 4th Michigan started throwing to him. But fortunately Sparty got a couple lucky breaks and ended up with a win anyways.
Caper scared me on that last play especially with the 2 fumbles earlier in the game. If he learns to hold onto the ball i think he will be the feature back. None of the RB's will be real good however with this O line. Winston had a couple nice runs, but for the whole game he was not impressive. Caper really impressed me on his blitz pick up and blocking, very impressive for a freshman.
Cousins has taken quite a few steps ahead of Cousins IMO. He has great accuracy, good patience, and showed the mobility to get himself out of trouble and actually help the team. He does need to sense the presure a little better. Both picks he should have had the ball out sooner and on the fumble he should have known someone would be coming at him and he should have protected the ball better.
Greg Jones is a beast. He is all over the field. The problem is there is no consistant play from any other player on the D. The secondary is so sketchy, the D Line is on and off, but they are improving which is good. Hopefully they can keep the momentum and turn out a good season. Everyone they play in the Big ten is beatable. It just depends on what MSU team shows up. |

Congrats on the win yesterday guys. As a U of M fan it sucked to lose like that, but you guys completely owned us defensively and earned that win. Good luck the rest of the way and I'm looking forward to next season in the Big House with Forcier leading the way again. _________________ Its only a matter of time until Hockey Town USA is rocking again!

Good win today. It was not as close as the scoreboard says, we dominated the whole way. _________________

193 Rushing yards, that what I like to see. I'll take the win and today showed me that Cousins is the man. We're just not as good as we are when Cousins is playing. Anyone hearing how long Glen Winston and Nichol will be out though? _________________

The Winston injury looked pretty awful. Im afraid he tore some important ligaments there and could miss significant time.
Im not sure what happened to Nichol, but it could be a broken arm or dislocated elbow. Either way, looks like Cousins will be the man for the remainder of the year. _________________

Thats what im afraid of especially with a very important Iowa game coming up.
So whats everyones predictions for the season now? I'm going with 7-5 with losses coming against Iowa and Penn State though we could very well come out 8-4 seeing as the Iowa game is at home. _________________

MSU definately didnt deserve to win anything today. Again dumb penalties, poor playcalling, and a couple bad calls by the refs and they look as though they are turning into a John L team of seasons past. How many times do they have to get to the 1 yard line, run two plays up the middle and lose yards on both, then do a play action pass on 3rd and lose yards again. The O line sucks so just keep trying to pass or run outside were the speed of Caper and Baker can be utilized.
On D the CB's were in good position most of the night but never made the play on the ball. They just were shadowing the WR's and letting them go get the ball uncontested. This team will be lucky to make it to a bowl game and if they do it will most likely be the motor city bowl or something.
The fumble that the refs reviewed and overturned was rediculous. It was a game changer but MSU shouldnt have been in that situation. |

Tough loss against Minnesota. Hopefully we rebound and just absolutely crush Western. _________________ Bengals Pro Bowl Watch
