I'm with Apollo on this one. I see us blowing out the Colts as the Texans go into it thinking that this a statement game. If the Texans want to be considered good they need to win games like this. I don't see the loos of OD having too great an effect on the offense as I think Walter will now take more of those inside seam routes. It's not like OD was releasing from a TE slot all the time, he was motioned to slot WR a lot of times. It is less deception but with the Colts secondary hurting and Andre attracting attention, Walter should have plenty of opportunities to come up big. _________________

I remember that game! It made me lol. You guys probably didn't think it was very funny, but sometimes you just have to laugh.
Good luck this week. I have Indy in a close one, but only because i think they can do a number on your passing game. If you guys were to ever beat them again, i would think this is one of your better shots. _________________ The saying is "I couldn't care less". If you could care less, then why bother to tell me? |

Pretty sure they are the one with 3 starting DB's out. I think our passing game will do work. _________________

I keep going back and forth on this game. Earlier this week I was totally confident that the Texans would be victorious this Sunday. Lately I have been thinking that the Colts are going to win. But I keep reminding myself that it doesn't matter who I think will win the game because it does not affect what happens on the field. The people who affect what happens on the field are the coaches, so it is up to them to win this game. It is up to the coaches to make adjustments when the team is losing and to keep the pedal to the metal when the team is winning. I'm just a fan so all I can do is sit back and watch. I hope the Texans will win. I hope with tremendous care for the franchise that I love so much to win. If the Texans can somehow, someway, pull off a victory this Sunday against the unbeaten Colts they will, as Apollo Stallion said, "shock the world." _________________

well,
Phillip Wheeler comes in and gives Indy a factor they do not have with Hagler - a possible outside linebacker blitz, which I think we will use to some extent[with success]. Daniels is a huge hit for the Texans - Walter is a decent second receiver, but outside of Johnson and Owens, Schaub is limited in weapons. and, though Sanders is not playing, he never plays, and Bullitt is a very, very solid SS[he had four picks last year], and Bethea is playing great. Jackson and Hayden have been on and off as they see the field very little, but Lacey and Powers have played very well. so, although I see AJ getting a big 120+yard game, I don't see Schaub having as much success, due primarily to our great pass rush[which will, as I stated, be aided with Wheeler].
also, Peyton had an "off" game against the 49ers[300+yards, 65%+ completion is off?] because we don't play them much. the Texans are a different story, and their defense isn't, I believe, half of what San Francisco's is, specifically in the CBs, so I see Manning having a big game with Reggie being able to split up some sub-par corners.
projected stuff:
Matt S. - 290 yards, 22/35, 2 TDs, 1 INT[to Bethea]
AJ - 125 yards, 9 catches, 1 TD
Moats - 70 yards, 15 Carries, 1 TD
Peyton M. - 355 yards, 25/37, 4 TDs
Reggie - 115 yards, 8 catches, 1 TD
Clark - 70 yards, 7 catches, 1 TD
Freeney/Mathis - combined 3 sacks, 1 FF
31-21, Colts
8D, feel free to criticize. |

Well, I don't disagree with the outcome, although I anticipate better numbers for Schaub than you gave him.
But our receiving corps is probably top 3-5, even without Daniels. Walter can slice through your secondary. Anderson can slice through your secondary. Jones can slice through your secondary. Johnson will slice through your secondary, and your linebackers aren't all that great. We'll still complete passes to Dreessen and Hill. _________________

our passing defense is really good though, and our points defense is similar. so though it is very, very possible for him to have a better game, I just don't see it. we held Fitz' and Q in check well enough, and Houshmanzadeh wasn't too outrageous against our team. I could possibly see Jacoby getting a big reception, but I don't fear neither him nor Anderson at all, honestly. Johnson is a big issue, and I think he will have a big game, probably even bigger than I projected. but I don't see the rest slicing us up. it's just anti-Colts to allow great passing games by the opposing quarterbacks. and, to me this is mostly done as a result of our DBs being able to tackle and limit YAC and our pass rushing ability. |

Remember, that AJ is neither of the 3.
If the Texans come out well-prepared and motivated I see them beating the Colts, with relative ease. But be it an half-a'd effort and we end up slipping closer to .500. _________________

| Quote: | According to NFL Network's Steve Wyche, the Texans plan to make heavy use of four-receiver sets Sunday at Indianapolis.
The plan is to compensate for Owen Daniels' loss by capitalizing on the Colts' lack of secondary depth. Indianapolis lost nickel back Marlin Jackson and strong safety Bob Sanders for the season, while top cornerback Kelvin Hayden in in danger of missing a month. Wyche suggests that Jacoby Jones could be "the featured receiver" opposite Andre Johnson Sunday. |

The 4 WR sets on 3rd down and long are going to be an issue. Freeney and Mathis are going to have free reign going against Brown and Winston, no chip from a TE or a RB (unless we go 1 TE and no RB). We all saw what Mathis could do to us last year, he single handedly forced two turnovers in the 4th quarter of the Rosencopter game. I would much rather play 2 TEs with 3 WRs and no RBs on 3rd down. But I am no coach. _________________

We should try to exploit the holes in their secondary, but also try to prevent the imminent threat of Freeney and Mathis. If we manage that, the game is ours for the taking. _________________

ESPN is reporting that Moats and Slaton will split carries even, but Kubiak will of course go with the hot hand if someone stands out. _________________

Ugh it pains me to see this talk about Steve, but I get it....I hope the guy turns the fumbling around because he is a danger when he gets the ball to opposing teams. He can score from anywhere on the field and we need that threat. Anywho....today...I need Moats to help my FF team _________________
