14-year veteran CB Ty Law has agreed to a contract with the Broncos.

The long-time Patriot is 35 and is a 5-time Pro-Bowler with 52 career INTs.

***Update***
The Broncos cut CB Jack Williams to make room for Law.

Law signed a one-year deal that's worth $800,000 and includes a $200,000 signing bonus.

Champ, Law, and Dawkins Shocked

That is one crazy experienced secondary. Maybe he will play better this year than he did last with the Jets. One can only hope.

Law has been one of my favs since Michigan but damn! I thought he was in a retirement home. I would be amazed if he could still play corner. I think he would make a better safety.

"I fought the law, and the, Law won." Laughing

Seriously though, his agent just released this statement:

Quote:
"Mr. Law has just gotten out of the shower. He's washed up."

Law is done. If anyone watched Jets games last year, they'd know.

That would've been an impossible secondary to score on 5-7 years ago.

This is what I'm thinking. Colts just lost Sanders and is extremely thin on depth back in that secondary. I think the Broncos FO signed Law, not to add depth to our own secondary, but to prevent Indianapolis from signing him. Think about it..we see them this season and most likely will see them in the playoffs. Law looked like a promising fit for a team like the Colts who are making a surefire SB run.

I agree, he would fit FS well at this point, similar to the way the Rams moved Aeneas Williams to FS after a stellar career at CB. Then move Dawkins to SS and you have 1 of the most experienced yet talented secondaries in the NFL.

Champ has really stepped up this year, making shoe string tackles, tough coverage..

As far as Law being signed, hes making the money so I highly doubt he cares if hes starting or what.

R.I.P. Williams.

I hope he doesn't take any time away from the development of Alphonso Smith who looked good before his injury and is getting a feel for the pro game and looks good for the future. Ty Law at this point should be nothing more then an injury replacement who can help Jack Williams and Alphonso Smith more on the practice field and adjusting to schemes and man coverages then he will be on the field.

I honestly do not know what to think of this signing, how much does he have left in the tank? They didn't sign him to be a leader/mentor because the already have Dawkins and Bailey, I'm surprised at this

Ryan McBean could go to IR with Law taking his place on the roster. We just signed Carlton Powell to the PS, so it makes sense.
